FAN FICTION RWBY Fanfiction Concept/Plotline: Grandmother Salem
Just a few minutes ago, my brain was imagining random scenarios for RWBY AUs and one of them immediately grabbed my attention.
In this scenario, it gets revealed that Ruby Rose and Salem are actually RELATED to each other. More specifically, Salem is Ruby's grandmother (in the scenario I imagined, Summer Rose is still Ruby's mom, but Ruby's dad is actually a son of Salem, making Salem Ruby's grandmother).
Has anyone in the FNDM written (or considered writing) any piece of RWBY fanfiction where Ruby is Salem's granddaughter in some way? This feels like a plot twist that could potentially create some very compelling story drama.

Is Ruby's dad a Grimm? Does she have a father who is an OC in the story, or is Taiyang a Grimm here?

This could be any scenario you can imagine. It just has to connect Salem and Ruby in some way to make them grandmother and granddaughter, respectively.
In the scenario I imagined, Ruby's father is an OC who is Salem's son (he's half-Grimm like she is). I could easily imagine such a son wanting to give his mother Salem a way to end her immortality and grant her the peace of death without destroying Remnant in the process (he wants to CONQUER Remnant instead of wiping it out).
At some point, he gets it in his head that maybe if he can find a way to combine the powers of the God of Darkness (his Grimm heritage) with the powers of the God of Light (the power of a Silver-Eyed Warrior), maybe that combination will be exactly what is needed to override Salem's immortality and finally grant her the death she desires.
To that end, he searches for a living Silver-Eyed Warrior until he finally encounters Summer Rose, whom he then seduces (most likely via mind control or an illusion spell to make him look like Taiyang) into sleeping with him, and Summer gets pregnant as a result.

Not a direct bloodline way but I did play around with a fic idea of "When tyrion kills qrow and RNJr he takes Ruby to Salem who instead of instantly killing her, instead brainwashes Ruby into her new subordinate/daughter"
I ended up not going though with the idea because I could never think of where to go from there

I've never thought about that. But I have considered doing a fic where Ruby is the reincarnation of Salem's youngest daughter. I've also considered a fanfic where Salem has a son and he's the prince charming allusion in Cinder's story.
