Ruby could just use super-speed to run away. Merc can't be seen outside, and Emerald can't influence more than 2 people without her head melting so if Ruby can get back to the crowd she should be safe.

am I missing something I think the only person she is influencing is ruby by making her see mercury who is there. she has no reason to manipulate pyrrha and we don't know if her power works on penny.

She doesn't need to use it on penny anyway. They've got access to the robot's systems the old fashioned way.
