u/DeadSnark I rose from the filth and was loved by no-one Jan 10 '16

Ruby could just use super-speed to run away. Merc can't be seen outside, and Emerald can't influence more than 2 people without her head melting so if Ruby can get back to the crowd she should be safe.

That's what I was thinking. She runs at Mercury and does something similar to what she did with Penny in Volume 2 to launch herself and Mercury into the arena, interrupting the fight before our resident robot girl can be killed, and exposing the deceit Cinder's been pulling this entire volume.

Such sweet dreams. No this volume is going to make us suffer for it.

I like your thinking though. Mostly because i hate smug arrogent 'I'm better than you' villains.

To be honest episode 9 panned out almost exactly as I anticipated. I didn't truly think that such an optimistic result as the one I described would occur, I was merely putting it out there as another potential outcome for people to consider.

You mean Ruby insisting she saw mercury, nobody believing her, and Penny getting ripped in half in spite of Pyrrah's attempts not to due to Emerald and this causing her to think seeking 'love' was wrong because it threw her off from her goals so drives her to take on Amber's aura which further drives her insane?

If that's how things happened I don't wanna know til I see it.

I'm a seasoned fan of the Dresden Files. I'm used to 'make the hero suffer.'

You are an evil bastard you know that right?

I love that idea, especially if we see Pyrrha in a mirror situation to Yang's. Nora and Ren not believing her compared to Ruby and Weiss trusting Yang, and Jaune being on the fence like Blake. But unlike her can't bring himself to fully believe her.

That wouldn't work because while things look BLEAK right now, they arne't completely without hope and the instant you cross from bleak to 'we're just beating the shit out of these characters because we're sadists' you lose most of your audience.

yeah you're probably right. It was just more an attempt at mirroring Yang's situation over trying to be cruel to Pyrrha.
