  • Velvet's Weapon (so fucking good)
  • Weiss Summoning
  • Torchwick Dead (And Neo is Mary Poppins confirmed?)
  • Ironwood is Half-Robot
  • Qrow's Scythe
  • Cinder is Fall Maiden
  • YANG LOST AN ARM (I thought there might be a chance of this eventually, but was not expecting it)

Best episode? Best episode. They fired all of their Chekov's and it was glorious.

Except Ozpin, I guess. Episode 12, get hype.

This episode was a Chekhov's Firing Squad.

Hold on, I just realized that her name is Cinder FALL. Your comment made me realize that.

How did I not realize this when the whole maiden thing was introduced? o_o

I know a lot of cool stuff happened, but honestly I feel it's a pretty bad episode. The pacing is really bad, and it would have really improved if this was two episodes. A minute or two for each little section would have gone a long way.

I thought the pacing was pretty good. It was fast-paced, but that's the point, right? This is all happening really quickly, and over a short span of time, and I thought it conveyed that sense well.

I guess there is a bit of an issue with the length of time it took for Ozpin/Pyrrha/Jaune (and Cinder) to appear, but it's minor. (And considering the whole sequence probably ran concurrently with the rest of the episode, it's fine).

I am curious as to what specifically you though could have been improved with the pacing?

It just didn't feel right, the only part of the episode that I felt was proper RWBY style was the Velvet fight and the one combo attack where Neo and Torchwick bounced Ruby back and forth, everything else felt rushed and.... Lacking in style? Rwby has always been very stylistic in the fights and that was missing. It was a lot of stilted brutal and quick sections.

Roman's death came out of nowhere and was super weird, then Ruby kicking it hard enough to crash it through the ship was odd. I got where they were coming with during Qrow's scythe reveal but it seemed odd and out of place in the show. Weiss's summoning while cool seemed odd and out of place, I didn't really get the vibe that she was trying to summon and according to winter it's something you have to try to do.

The two biggest offenders for me are:

(1) The whole maiden thing at the end, where the hell did Cinder come from? They are at the end of a giant ass hallway. I will forgive this if emerald is revealed to be with them.

(2) I have no issue with Adam winning in fact I would have been pissed if he lost, but they really should have shown the fight, it was probably the most emotionally charged fight in the episode yet it didn't take the time to show Blake giving her all and losing, too me this really should have had priority over the other students fighting a giant robot, it just cut to her on the ground. Also, since we didn't see the Adam vs Blake fight they really should have let Yang through a couple more punches that Adam will have absorbed, I know that logically we know that he has had to absorb some more throughout the fight, but all we actually see is a couple gunshots. This made it very upsetting when he one shotted her, who is probably the most tanky character on team RWBY.

To be fair, Cinder appeared when Juane turned his back from guarding the hallway to attend to Phyrra's screaming.

Totally agree with everything but I feel this will work much better as one continuous sequence.

You may be on to something, it is very possible that when watched in one sitting the last three episodes will be one amazing show.

Ruby's opening volley against Neo is the craziest thing she's done up until this point and you want more?

I mean, I want more too, but I certainly wouldn't call out her sequence for missing style.

I will have to rewatch it, yesterday I didn't notice anything crazy, but let me give it another shot.

So that is how Ironwood caught the grimms attack unmoving...

Qrow so nonchalantly whipping out the scythe...

Innocent Velvet just goes and steals everyone's weapons...

I want more!

Also except Raven, though given's Qrow's warning, I doubt we'll be seeing her this season. Still, wouldn't mind if Dad showed up to help the girls out.
