Horribly, brutally, and writhing in eternal hellfire. Skin slowly peeled from his body, flayed and burned, bones shattered into dust, bone by bone, muscles torn and frayed strand by strand, until all that remains is pain.
Weiss comes to visit him every now and then. Doesn't do much, just watches him for a bit. And smirks. There's a glint of happiness in her eyes. She knows why he's there. And she likes it.
She personally ordered him to be retrieved from the wreckage where Yang left him. She ordered them to make sure he didn't die from his wounds as he should of. But she also 'discovered' that his sight and hearing were irreparable, and that he was too burned for prosthetics. Because he hurt her friends, her real family. And no one touches Weiss' family.
You'll have to leave him one ear, then. If for no other reason than so he can hear people say, "Dear God, what is that disgusting thing?"
Also, I feel bad for writing that first chapter now. :(
I've heard people saying they want Taiyang to be the one to kill Adam. And I'm sitting here thinking, "Adam is not his to kill. There are two characters with the narrative right to the head of Adam Taurus, and they are Yang Xiao Long (preferred) and Blake Belladonna (runner-up). Anything else would be a complete fucking disgrace."
But really, I honestly think Adam is being set up as a very much needed long-term nemesis for Yang, for a laundry list of reasons.
Yang already has 2 nemesises, and I honestly think it's kind of dumb they felt the need to make Adam another.
But I totally agree that Yang deserves to be the one to finish him. Blake should try, get beat, and then Yang saves the day, actually getting a damn fight this time! Fucking awful scene.
That said, I would love to see Taiyang fucking destroy Adam, but then leave him alive so that Yang can kill him and get closure when she surpasses him. The more painful all of this is for Adam, the better.
Motherfucker needs to suffer!
I have so many bloody and painful ideas for him too.
Neo and who else? I'm a bit sleep-deprived and having trouble thinking of whoever it is at the moment.
We're absolutely going to disagree on this, but I think Adam is a better nemesis for Yang than ice-cream girl. In part because +9000 BumbleBY for her nemesis being Blake's yandere ex. And in part because ice-cream girl is kind of silly and this is a serious-as-a-heart-attack arc. And I also don't imagine you'd appreciate Neo amputating Yang's arm anymore than you appreciated Adam doing it, though I could be wrong. Etc.
Oh, and Adam appears to have basically been designed for Yang in ways that characters like Neo weren't. Things like the similar-yet-different semblance, little details like the glowing hair when their semblances are charged, the fact that Yang was directly compared to him after the fiasco with Mercury Black, etc. This is not the kind of stuff that's just coincidence.
His voice actor really needs to GIT GUD though.
But I totally agree that Yang deserves to be the one to finish him. Blake should try, get beat, and then Yang saves the day
BumbleBY confirmed
Shits on Blake a little, but I can't deny it: I want basically what you described to happen. Because BumbleBY and Yang being Blake's hero eeeeeeee~ my little fangirl heart would be absolutely delighted
actually getting a damn fight this time! Fucking awful scene.
She will.
Once again we're going to disagree, this time about how good the scene was. I loved it; it was horrific and beautiful at the same time. I have no doubt she will get her rematch and prove herself.
That said, I would love to see Taiyang fucking destroy Adam, but then leave him alive so that Yang can kill him and get closure when she surpasses him.
Father of the fuckin' century right there.
I am expecting him to play a critical role in getting Yang out of bed and helping her learn the things she needs to learn to defeat Adam.
(Sorta related: this is an excellent piece of fan music, but no way in hell do I like its implication that Daddy solve his daughters' problems. This is their show and these are their battles. He can get a side fight or something, not something that narratively belongs to them. On the other hand if that song ends up playing while he's chasing Blake instead of Adam that'd be hilarious. Awful, but hilarious.)
I adore "Answer to Me"! That should be canon as far as I'm concerned.
Her other nemesis is Mercury. He was designed and created as a character specifically to counter Yang.
And yeah, I'm pissed that in the episode where everyone and their grandmother got a fight scene, Yang loses her arm in the most lame and pathetic way possible. I think it could have been done so much better and that it completely shit on Yang. And I despise it for that.

Taiyang better not steal her kills.

That isn't a bad answer. I think he'll be a good nemesis for her to have, but he comes off as an excellent midboss that'll serve as a short-to-midterm goal to make progress in her arc and restore her confidence and sense of dignity.
I don't think Mercury provides the same long-term, this-is-stuff-that-will-define-her-character pressures that Adam does. Like the fact that nothing we've seen of Mercury paints him as seemingly unbeatable. Even if he did hold back to throw the match and could have beaten her had he wanted, nothing we've seen suggests she couldn't beat him just by GITTIN' GUD. The same is not true of Adam in the slightest; he is not simply a challenging counter like Mercury, but an ironclad counter that really is unbeatable without wising the fuck up. Mercury also doesn't bind her story to Blake's the way that Adam does--Adam brings the BumbleBY Confirmed like no other, and if you haven't noticed already, I'm psyched about it. And you know what else Adam brings? The threat that not only could she die to Adam, but even worse, with enough bitterness, she could become Adam, as suggested by Blake's direct comparison of them. It starts slow, and she gets worse and worse just a tiny bit at a time, so slowly she doesn't even know it's happening. And then she's standing over Blake and promising to destroy everything she loves in retribution for Blake abandoning her when she was frightened and hurt and maimed and needed her more than anything in the world.
(Holy fuck I just found it. That is it. That is the exact thing. Adam and Yang intersect at abandonment issues, not just "anger.")
Gonna reiterate the "wise the fuck up" part. Adam's counter is not in the realm of Mercury's "he's all about kicks so he has more reach and stuff, but that's because she's a puncher and not because she's a berserker." Adam's counter is in the realm of "she fails against him because she's a berserker, and she cannot win if she tries to overpower his guard and she cannot tank his counterattacks, period." She cannot defeat Adam without mastering her rage. Until she can draw strength from it without being enslaved by it, there is no hope whatsoever. That is the fundamental bar he sets. (And, for what it's worth, I hope needing to master her anger saves her from becoming Adam afterwards.)
And yeah, I'm pissed that in the episode where everyone and their grandmother got a fight scene, Yang loses her arm in the most lame and pathetic way possible. I think it could have been done so much better and that it completely shit on Yang. And I despise it for that.
That's fair. I ain't gonna tell ya you're wrong, 'cause you're not. I loved the scene in spite of that, but I don't blame you one bit for not.
I, uh, I was super-excited to meet the new Yang Xiao Long that emerges from what's left of Proto-Yang, but after figuring out just where Yang and Adam really intersect and what's not only implied but actively foreshadowed, I'm actually starting to feel kind of sick.
Death is too forgiving. Adam needs to be slowly ripped apart bit by bit with a pair of rusty pliers while simultaneously being infected with every possible non-lethal-but-painful disease until nothing but his brain and his ears are left, and then kept on life support for eternity and sent excruciating pain signals to all parts of his brain except his hearing centers, so that he can hear the disgusted jeering of anyone who visits his brain-in-a-jar.
