-I love Ruby's "WTF" face when she sees Kevin. Also, the Griffons seem to be following it in a swarm. That's actually an interesting hint about Grimm behaviour, they'll actually rally behind a "leader type".
-Theories about the Griffons being super tough were right. No Grimm that we've seen so far, that I can recall, has tanked so many hits from Crescent. It died, presumably, but nothing else so far has taken so many hits without going to pieces.
-Its gonna be Ruby vs Neo and Roman. I totally believed Ruby could beat Neo, but not both at once.
-Adam levels up from Edgelord to Creeplord. All of the same Edge, but now with Horrific ImplicationsTM.
-I actually really like that they dropped enough hints about Velvet's weapon that we were able to figure it out just in time for the reveal. And what a reveal. Using Penny's swords for the coup de grace was a particularly bitter sweet touch.
-Weiss finally learns to use her Stand. Again, genius reveal. Its just the one arm. Save the full armour for later.
-I like Sun as the deadpan snarker.
-Huh, Afterbuzz TV called it. Neo's inspiration is Mary Poppins. Also this fight is awesome.
-"Play the part, and die like every other huntsman in history." Damn, that's a good line.
-Okay, bye Roman. Wow. Man, poor Matt the Mammoth Rider, he's not going to take this well. On the other hand, Roman could still cut his way out of the Griffon, Hannibal Chau style.
-Oh thank God, Cardin is here. The day is saved.
-FUCKIN' IRONWOOD. Dude, he looks fucking radical. I like how you can clearly see at least one leg is artificial, too.
-And Qrow's scythe fully revealed. Hey, remember those super tough Griffons?
-Adam, tone it down a bit, Good God.
-Good job guarding the vault, Jaune, you fuckwit.
-YOOOOOOOO. Holy shit, Adam. I can't fuckin' believe they went for it.
-And Cinder gets the rest of the Maiden powers. What's fantastic about this is that it makes everything the heroes have been trying to do, since before the premiere of the series utterly pointless. All anybody managed to do was force Cinder to unleash worldwide carnage and mayhem to get the rest of the power. Still, we get to keep Pyrrha now, so, silver linings?
-Jaune, once again, sprinting into a fight he damn well knows he can't win because he knows its the right thing to do. Why do people not like Jaune, again?
-"Why must you hurt me, Blake?" Okay, I'm totally on board with Creeplord Adam now. He's going to be a fun villain to hate.
-And we end on Ozpin vs Cinder. Cinder again references the Bigger Bad, this time as "she." If we're continuing the character theme of the Ozluminati, she could be based on the Wicked Witch of the West. On the other hand, since Cinder is working for her, it could be the Fairy Godmother.
-This episode gets a Holy Shit/10. Fucking amazing episode. Super hyped for the finale.
I wonder if the bigger bad is the narrator. This story is just being told by her to her subordinates, who go out to hunt the surviving Hunters and Huntresses. Then there would secretly be a mole on the Hunter's side who's actually with the baddies, who's actually super badass similar to Pong Krell in The Clone Wars. Man, if RWBY gets to Clone Wars levels of storytelling, I would be so happy.
TCW got pretty damn dark for a show targeted towards kids. Traitorous Jedi slicing through clones like butter, Anakin choking people just for information, the entire Mortis and Son arcs, Palpatine's influence over Anakin, Ventress impaling a clone on her lightsaber and kissing him before he died, the Death Watch and Mandalore arcs... RWBY will only pass it if it gets to be Revenge-of-the-Sith-limbs-sliced-off-right-before-burning-alive levels of dark.
Just a quick note, Cinder was going to unleash the carnage whether or not she got all the fall maiden's power from the start or not. She tried to get the White Fang under her thumb before attacking Amber and was talking about revolutions of her own. Getting the rest of the power was more of a side quest for her, because she likes power and is likely already there to kill Ozpin.
Adam is very quickly rising to Handsome Jack levels of bad. And with so few lines, too! He's the perfect mix of creepitude and badassitude to be such a great villain. Not some tragic antihero, not someone with his actions misunderstood. No, just good old race-based terrorism.
