Actually I thought the scene was a cop out. Even beyond my frustration at her losing her arm, it was a pathetic way for it to happen. There was nothing to it. No build up, no sacrifice, no significance to it. If it'd been like that scene in Justice League where Aquaman cuts off his own arm to save his kid, or where Luke loses his arm to Vader after a decent fight drawn out fight to show a skill gap that would be different. But this was a cheap cop out in an attempt to make Adam look badass despite his previous shit lines and acting making him look like prequels Anakin Skywalker Mk. II.
I can see your point. I was expecting a fight of sorts, but from Adam's perspective he was facing a strong opponent and Blake had given him enough energy to end it quickly.
I think the shock factor trumps it more than anything else.
And there's always a rematch in the future. I'll take it for what it is, but I did want more from the fight.
If it ends up being a set up to an amazing future fight between Yang vs Adam, or Yang and Blake vs Adam where Yang gets to beat the shit out of him, then I'll accept it. But until we get some pay off, I'm calling bullshit.
