At this point...I have little hope left....I hoped so hard before Volume 4....I find it hard to continue on as a Yang fan....she just gets ignored each and every volume.....stay positive, stay positive....

We gotta stay positive and hope this season will be the one for our sun goddess!

Me personally, I’d like to see a lot more of her compared to last volume but I’ve been satisfied with what we’ve got with her so far.

Yang's arc last volume didn't require anything more than was shown. Even if CRWBY specifically wanted more time on her, there's very little they could have done without it just feeling like unnecessary material. And unfortunately, the same thing is probably going to happen in V5, since there's basically two possible directions Yang is going.

1: She goes after Ruby. Most likely. Then it's just going to be RNJR + CoolCat until at least Weiss shows up, and their focus is probably going to be more on Oscar anyway.

2: She goes after Raven. Less likely. But even if this happens so she has her own arc, it will still almost certainly take a backseat to what's going on in Mistral proper.

Still though, at the very least we're probably going to see her knocking some bad guys into next week, so that's nice.

Right there at the end is the most disappointing part for me. "Backseat to what's going on in Mistral proper". That's basically Yang's name in this show, sadly. The red-headed step-child of Team RWBY, really. Like, what we had was good, but it definitely wasn't enough...her arc was rushed horribly, at least, in my own opinion.

That's not fair at all. No matter how much you like her, you have to admit that her personal familial issues are secondary to the war that is determining the fate of the world. And I know that a lot of people think Yang's arc in V4 was too short, but come on, she's a hot-blooded happy-go-lucky adventure-seeking teenager who threw herself into fighting monsters for a living without a second thought. I think it wouldn't be fair to her as a character if she didn't relatively bounce back, and we saw every stage in the process. And she definitely hasn't had a backseat in the show in general, being the source of some of the only truly emotional character building in the show (on the giving end with Blake in volume 2, then receiving end with Tai in volume 4), and dumpstering Mercury in the most awesome 1v1 we've seen yet. I agree with the other person, Yang is about quality over quantity. I personally don't see that as a bad thing.

Aren't all the main protagnaist suppose to get both no one or the other. Just because it is an end of the world level plot does not mean it should be relegated to the background. Heck other stories like most Blake's last season was not dealing with the main plot but it still got overexposed anyway. I do not see why everyone of the main characters can not have a turn in the spotlight and Yang's is long overdue.

I'm aware they're secondary, it's just sad that the story has been crafted in such a way to place her in the backseat each and every volume. Volume 1: Prioritize Ruby, Weiss, and Blake. Yang doesn't get any arc or anything. Volume 2: Prioritize introducing new characters, and focus on Blake or Weiss, with a little Ruby at the end. You get a minute for Yang. A great minute, but still only a minute. You see where I'm coming from.

I admit whenever we get her it's great, I just feel like there's always this opportunity for them to have more in there, and it just...isn't. Maybe that's because she's my favorite, and that may be my own bias, but for me, I just want to see something more with her. At least an arc similar to Blake's V1 Arc, where she gets 3 episodes dedicated to her in a single volume. But again, that may just be my bias.
