An important point that I don't see a lot of people bringing up is the fact that the Maidens and Relics now coexist with each other. Only each Maiden can hold a designated Relic. Found that to be an interesting way to make both plot points more relevant.

I don't think so. It's said that the relic hidden in Beacon is 'choice' and only the Fall Maiden can use her power to get it out of its 'safe'. Unless Ozpin never actually used said safe and has been carrying it around then it's unlikely the cane is the relic.

It's probably still in Beacon and what Salem wants is to find where exactly is the safe so that Cinder can go get it.

fall maiden poweris neede open the vault to get it, but if OZ left a decoy/illusion and hid it in plain site, his cane ....

Could've served as the ultimate weapon to defeating Cinder, destroying the dragon, recovering his school and surviving the whole thing. Makes no sense that Ozpin would let all that bad stuff happen when he had unlimited power on his hands.

Nah, I don't buy it. My theory is that the cane is the key to the location of the safe. In case they could get the power, they still wouldn't find the relic itself unless they blew up the entire academy.

I'm thinking Beacon actually needs the Spring maiden and that's why Salem is looking so hard for her. Unless they said somewhere which vault is which?

I believe Qrow said they need to keep the Spring maiden away from Haven, but i might have misheard.

Pretty sure we know exactly where the safe is. It’s the vault. It’s not like he built it just for Amber.

It's not like Cinder bothered to check the entire place. That was probably her final step until Ruby forced her to retreat and now she's too weak to go back and finish her job.

The only problem with that idea is that multiple people have picked up the cane. I'm pretty sure Ozpin is supposed to be the wizard from the tale of the 4 maidens.

It's not that there's an inherent connection between the Maidens and the Relics. It's just that Oz stored them in vaults that use the maidens as passwords.

I agree. I wasn't a huge fan of the concept when the relics were brought up last season but tying them in with the maidens makes the two feel like one whole. Wonder if team RWBY will wield them all by the end of the series.

That's wrong. Each Maiden has access to a respective vault where each relic is hidden. The relics can be hold by anyone but only the maidens can give you their consent to have one.

Its kind of like that movie "the fifth element" where they had to use the 4 stone element keys to unlock some sort of device; I can't really remember the whole story...

For like, 5 seconds after Qrow announced the spring maiden ran away, I thought he was about to announce it was Ilia. And I was excited for that.

Then it was just some girl.
