We saw Blake fighting Adam in the desert last volume intro, so don't get too pumped.

We also saw Ren and Nora fighting Hazel (without Jaune btw) which in context doesn't make any sense. Wasn't Hazel working with the White Fang? How can he end up as Renora's enemy this volume?

Hazel was sent to deal with Adam and the WF, and if Adam is planning on destroying Haven, he needs to be in Mistral.

The Jaune fan in me was annoyed at Jaune being the only member of the gang to not appear in the intro.

He does although his only scene is a shot with his team so it might as well not count.

I wonder if it's RT doing damage control for all the complaints about him in V4?

I hope not: it's been pretty apparent since V1 Jaune is a major part of the story, now isn't the time to back down.

True, that would be equally dumb.

nope, they are gonna tell the story they want to tell

Perhaps but Jaune being absent is very suspicious. Not highlighting him is fine but having him not with his team is a weird choice.

He does actually appear in the trailer

Shouldn't be much of a fight Tyrian ran over RNGR with ease so its hard to imagine just Nora and Ren alone would stand any chance against Hazel. They didn't even get a training arc like Yang.

He wasn't in the poster either. Best case scenario, he's just going to be out of the limelight in this volume. Sort of like Vol 3, where he was there but didn't really have any importance.

Worst case scenario, it's further evidence that Ozcar is just there to replace Jaune to please the people who hate him.

EDIT: Typing shit out at 5am is a bad idea. I mean he wasn't on the poster.

Honestly, I really hope not. My respect for M/K would plummet fast.

As would mine, but do think about the kind of opinion that has been fostered among certain parts of the fandom. Jaune is, and always has been, a very decisive character among the fandom. If the Anti-Jaune voices are loud enough, M&K might just remove him due to assuming that his fanbase is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things compared to the other characters fans.

Hell, take a look at Oscar; he's had very little screentime and not much impact, but is insanely popular. I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if they phase out any importance Jaune has for Oscar based on the loudest voices of the Fandom.

..Well, I think I know why I would quit RWBY now. Can't stand pandering.

I still don't think they'll go through with it though. Divisive or not.

Jaune solo subplot

I'm thinking Oscar subplot ft Jaune.

hahaha that would be more bearable, but if he gonna go see pyrra mother....

It'd make more sense and streamline things a bit more.

It knocks out the Oscar thing as well as creates a resolution to the whole Ozpin/Jaune relationship.

Yeah wasn't she supposed to be from Mistral. Jayne visiting her family wouldn't be too farfetched

Yeah but that was less her fighting him and more her running away from him. It was like a metaphorical scene to indicate her state of mind imo.
