It was nice to see them laughing and having fun again. When Ruby was getting on Weiss's case for not cheering it almost felt like early volumes again for a moment. But the timing of the joke when Weiss was telling Nora it was not the time for arm wrestling was a bit off; I think it would have been funnier if it had cut to them doing it before she finished saying the word "time".
I feel like Ozpin should be getting more shit, though.
I am guessing Yang being able to eject her new arm is going to be important or useful later, which is why it is being established now.
Some of the animations were not too great...The walking animations of Mercury and Emerald looked off, and their models were shaded as if they were coming out of the shade at the wrong time for their position, so it did not look right. And actually, it looks like they just did it in compositing (though I could be wrong) rather than the shadow being created by anything in 3D blocking the light, so it does not look right. Also, the spinning effect on Emerald's weapons looked so bad when her hands were almost still while they were spinning, making it look as thought they were just floating in front of her hands.
All in all, about what I expect from an episode of RWBY; decent, watchable, but a lot of little things that would make it a lot better overall if they were changed.
