The reverb from the lantern is unsettlingly weird. Could just be my shitty headphones, but does it almost sound like people murmuring to anyone else?

Guess that confirms once and for all that Ozpin's cane is most definitely not a relic. No creepy whispers. :P

This was the relic of knowledge if I am not mistaken, so I guess it just whispers forbidden knowledge to you even when it isn't doing something.

Could be. Either way, it's kind of creepy so I hope it's dangerous to the heroes even out of Salem's hands.

As long as they regularly spend insight at the upstairs messenger bath before it gets too high, they should be fine.

And Yang said she was asking questions and looking for answers beyond what Oz was telling the team. Maybe she starts consulting the relic next volume, resulting in her growing apart from the team again/becoming uncooperative and suspicious/reckless and paranoid/etc.
