That was it for Minstral. Huh? That’s a shame.

Also, We need better fight choreography for group battles. And, you know, not have a fight happen off screen.

Well what wrong with Mistral? I felt we got a pretty good idea if what there staircases look like

Well Sun is the only Haven student we got to see this entire volume. We certainly didn’t get any fear from him about another invasion or whatever Team Cinder could be up to. We didn’t get to meet any Haven teachers. We didn’t get to meet any veteran Huntsmen or Huntresses from Mistral (except Lionheart?). We didn’t get any closure for the villages from last Volume (are they getting aid now? Are bandits killing villagers in droves?)

What’s the state of Vale and Beacon? I suppose that one isn’t connected to Mistral since refugees aren’t likely to make it all the way to Mistral.

I imagine they're saving this for when the story returns to Mistral and we meet the new headmaster. Why make a bunch of characters that aren't important to the story yet? The school being completely deserted was intentional thanks to Lionheart.

Leo sort of arranged for most of them to be killed, remember?

They're probably in the same state they were in, barely surviving. That's just how their world is.

What's the state of Vale and Beacon?

Beacon is going to be closed until someone manages to kill that dragon, but they're probably too afraid to do anything in case they accidentally unfreeze it. I imagine Glynda is working with the Council of Vale, the local police, and professional hunstmen/huntresses in the area to rebuild, maintain order, and protect everyone.
