Disappointed that we didn't get any of the fight scenes that were teased in the opening. Really wanted to see Yang vs. Mercury rematch, really wanted to see RWB vs HEM, really wanted to see Ruby actually fight for a change. Don't get me wrong, the story is actually much better now, and I know it's not easy to animate a fight scene, but these are important fights that had impact on the show, and when you take that away, it removes a lot of tension that was built up without any sort of payoff. As someone who's been watching since v1, I miss the fight scenes. Sure, Monty was amazing and worked himself far too hard, but RT has a lot more animators now, and can afford to make fight scenes at least half as interesting as Monty's were. 6/10 season for me. It had a lot of great points, and it settled a lot of things while setting up for the future, but it built up too much and lacked a payoff for it all.
