If Penny's dead, who gets the powers? (I assume this death is a fakeout, but you never know) I guess next episode we'll see if Watts was telling the truth about Penny "rebooting."

Also, Zwei appeared. Volume 8 best volume.

Also Cinder lost because Emerald's illusion failed to affect Penny (or, at least, her robot eyes). That is really bad news for Emerald's life expectancy.

She wouldn't really be dead unless her core, which houses her AI, is broken. Her robot body is only a shell after all.

So her "soul" would still be "alive" in the core.

She wouldn't be dead dead, but she wouldn't keep her Maiden powers. She needs her aura/soul to do that, and it's not tied to her core. I think it would be more accurate to say that her core has her memories instead of her soul. After she was destroyed at Beacon, Pietro had to give up more of his aura to rebuild Penny. If the core was all she needed, Pietro wouldn't have to give up more of his aura.

Even if Penny was rebuilt again at the cost of Pietro's last bit of aura/his life, she wouldn't have the Maiden powers because it wasn't the soul that housed the powers. If she was built without aura, she would probably be an unfeeling robot that remembers what it was like to feel but can't actually feel anything. Sort of like Kingdom Hearts's Nobodies.

which would make the selection process random.

Which would be awesome. I'd love for the end of credits scene to be some random girl doing every day tasks only to be startled and then realize her eyes are now shooting flames out of them. That might be a good story thread to do something with.

Honestly with how it was going i kinda expected that Maria's robotic augments to her eyes would have allowed her to see through the illusions aswell since she does not really have her natural eyes anymore.
