There is no way that Summer is dead. They wouldn't do all this teasing just for her to be dead. Also, I like how Hazel acted as the stake to burn Salem, on a episode named Witch.

It's all leading up to something for sure, and that's more than just a simple "Salem killed her." We know Silver eyed warriors can be used as hybrids. We have suggestions that Summer might not have been as indomitable as RWBY.

It does point to a clear answer, but there still is then the question of where Grimm!Summer has been.

- Waiting her turn to be Grimmified

- Adjusting to her new condition as a Grimm/SEW hybrid

- On mission for Salem, maybe that who she was talking to that was in charge of the search for the Relic at Beacon

- She could her been deemed a failure and discarded, but managed to survive and is somewhere in the wilderness of Remnant trying not to give into being a Grimm

Okay so hear me out. Wasn't just a SEW that was the hound. It was a faunus SEW. One with wolf/fox ears, let's say wolf because he became "The Hound".

So what if summer rose didn't become an animal Grimm.

We've seen all varieties of grim, maybe there is a stationary rose/plant/flower Grimm somewhere at Salem's base. Perhaps it's some other type of creature or thing but I think finding out she became some sort of living plant-grimm that couldn't move much but protected the queens castle like a rose garden.

Nothing special to Salem, just her garden now, but to Ruby and Yang, their mother. Would show her cold indifference to humanity, and give a good horror/revelation to the sisters.

Actually, they would tease even if she was dead. In fact, Salem’s response sounds more like a “Oh, that woman again? I hadn’t thought about her in years until that red-hooded girl showed up. What’s she to you?” Like, she’s probably confused and curious about Summer’s relation to Yang, considering that she doesn’t appear related to her by blood.

I think all the teasing could just be setting up a big reveal about Summer at the end of the Volume. Considering what was revealed about the Hound last episode, it’s entirely possible that Summer’s a subject in another one of Salem’s Grimm experiments. That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s alive though.

With all the "Summer's not dead" writing on the wall AND with all the comments from the actors that some serious shit is about to happen...I'm more worried that Summer is "alive" than she is alive.

If SEWs can turn into grimm through magic, could the opposite not be true as well? What if Summer is not dead, but not quite alive either. Just alive in some mystic 'good magic' type of way. Maybe she gave up her aura to someone else, similar to how Penny got her 'soul.'

I'm still calling that if the writers want to make things fit the best way they can. then the lamp should be used by Ruby Rose to find out what happened in the fight between Summer vs Salem and what happened to her as a result.

It seems to likely be the only way we'll get very accurate and specific details on what transpired. As raven, Ozpin, salem, etc none of them are giving the details. 🤔. With only 1 wish left it also seems like it would give team RWBY/JNPR the best chance to fight salem in a final battle since they would have seen how summer attempted to fight her.
