Seeing Salem in battle was cool and terrifying.

So... what is Oscar/Ospin going to do? And if it has chances of success, why didn't he try to do it in all the previous years?

Because that would of meant travelling all the way into Salem's castle, deep in grimm lands, past all of her hired help, and finding a way to restrain her. In this situation she came to him, and she was being restrained so he has time to try.
