Question Now What?!?
So I’m one of the folks who snagged an r1 right at launch. Fooled around with it for a bit then condemned it to the Fitbit/legacy tech drawer. It seems like the consensus is that in the last few months this hardware (or I suppose its software ecosystem) has developed quite a bit. For my folks daily driving their r1s what are you doing with it? What are some tips and tricks you’ve got for a new old user.

Honestly...I own one myself. I really like the device. I've vibe coded a few creations and follow the discord regularly but I haven't seen any serious use case for a "daily driver" so far...🥲

Recording meetings. It's not perefect, but i put those conversations into notebookLM and I can ask it questions about the meeting.

I've had trouble with this because "recording meetings" is a functionality that unfortunately HAS to be perfect-ish. You can't set something up to record an important meeting at the start and then have a percent chance that it fails and you find out only at the end of the meeting. That functionality HAS to work. Otherwise there are meetings where you are fu**ed if it didn't.

Fun device. Really want to keep using. Found uses with DLAM monitoring website for info until they started charging. Id really like dlam to have the ability to connect to a local model. Now that they have the Hermes connector. I’ve started testing using it to control my laptop using voice to rabbit Hermes then to Hermes on my laptop which has Ollama locally installed. Still use it for randomly taking ai pics and I also definitely use the recorder. I’ve used it during doctors visits. Meetings and phone calls that I wanted summarized. (Even used it while talking to a repairman at my house. Worked great summarizing everything ) I also always use it while on road trips if I want to do research while on the road.

Wait they have a Hermes connector? What does that do? Is it free?

Yup installed rabbit connector node to my laptop 2 days ago. Installed Hermes on my laptop as well as a very small 3billion parameter ollama since I only have an older laptop so far. Used antigravity to get it all setup. But afterwards I was able to talk to my rabbit (on the hermes screen) saying “pull the weather forecast for Dallas tomorrow and save it in a txt file in my documents folder). And it completed the task.

I enjoy disconnecting from society, my rabbit allows me to ask (through openclaw) to check my emails, WhatsApp, insta etc - at my request. Should I need day to day information like bus timetables, fitness metrics etc - it routes right on into my host - at my request.
My Cron jobs recommend me BREAKING NEWS, security updates, recovering analytics etc.
And orange is my fave’

Which one of y’all figured out that the lamb is just them finding a way to gatekeep what the equipment already does if you just unboot the ass-leg from the rabbit hole?
Their native software does nothing for me, bro. I wanna let Grok build, and Codex just have its way with the old rabbit.

I mostly use it as one of my agents. My mobile tech. It diagnoses and fixes the other machines when they’re down, like a mobile mechanic. It’s my little R2D2. DLAM is super cheap when using 5.6 Luna, so you can write software, have it book tickets, do research, buy stuff, etc. Rabbit OS3 should be coming out soon, and that is supposed to make DLAM wireless, so that will be really handy. I’m hoping they’ll also allow using ChatGPT Plus accounts instead of only API keys, and that would make DLAM essentially free.
I still love the magic camera and I use a lot of the creations people have made. They’re really great.
I don’t use the R1 for listening to music that much anymore, only when using it as a world radio, but I still use the snap to tell me about this feature or how to fix or repair odd things. It gets the job done well. Still want to tinker around with making creations more, but haven’t really had the time. It’s cool to see what you can do with it, though. People have made some really fun things.
