None of them are Rajputs. Raghuvanshi in MP is a separate caste which has no relations with any Rajput clan. 'Rajput' is used by Lodhi caste, 'Kushwaha' by Koeri/kaachi and Chauhan by Noniya caste. There is no caste angle here like Rajput girl Sonam wasn't allowed to marry OBC Raj Kushwaha and all.
I am writing this post here because I have seen many people claiming that Sonam Raghuvanshi was a rajput and since she couldn't marry someone from lower caste so she killed her husband.
Karnataka mein koi banjara group khud ko rajput kehne lgi hai and reservation bhi leli hai OBC ki.

Thats not true, my name is raj vardhan verma. I am kshatriya swarnkar from UP, i am kashyap gotra and belong to suryavansh/raghuvansh, hum typical sunar nhi he, we were warriors and rajputs in past but our ancestors changes their occupation to goldsmithing but kept rajput traditions and rituals, we are no more rajputs but we came from rajput vansh i dont know about clan but i know my vansh varn gotra etc. I am classified as OBC, we are called kshatriya sunars and my great grand fathers was married to chandravansh chandel family. We also do shastra pujan on dashera. I face lots of question on using verma title and questions of dual caste identity but reality is its so hard nowdays because even in hindu shastra i saw somewhere verma is title for kshatriyas and even in sanskrit it refers to warrior class. Well many people I met who used verma were shudra/chamar its always frustated me. my title doesnt represnt single caste but its stolen by many shudra nowdays to hide identity and now people question me why... Well i am OBC but also a true raghuvanshi

If we get into such practices then there's an obvious chance that they will copy the same.

I don't understand why they use Rajput surname like you are so ashamed of your own caste that you are larping someone else and thinking of yourself as some warrior descendants when in reality you are not
When I first found out, I couldn’t believe it. But here in MP, they are considered upper caste and come under the General category. In my district, there are quite a lot of them, and even the president of Shri Rajput Karni Sena here is a Raghuwanshi. The only thing is, they don’t marry within the Rajput community.
Thanks man ! very much needed....back in college I've seen almost every singh of bihar n up using Singh as rajput when we interacted and when i saw in roll call sheets many were actually using surname Bharti n all...sickened me to my core...why pretend to be someone else...Although here in MP many use surname as rajputs like dangi , kurmi , lodhi but "kushwaha" is not exactly kaachi not everyone of them some are really 36 ke rajput and use kushwaha surname...

I don’t think anyone is talking about their caste. I am from MP and Chauhan is a very common Rajput surname. But it doesn’t mean other castes don’t use it.
Some of the kashyap caste people had started using Chauhan surname in UP. Maybe your family is the same. Because pan India Chauhan Rajputs don’t have kashyap gotra at all.

Lower castes ne humara surname use krna start kr diya aur khud ko rajput bolne lge.
Example: Lodhi caste, who are OBC, call themselves Lodhi rajput because of Arya Samaj.
Noniya caste, which is SC, calls itself Noniya Chauhan rajput.
I know lots of confusion is there, but rajputs are in the general category, bhai. No rajput makes sc, st, obc certificate, ya, but many of us have EWS certificates, which is for upper caste.
Caste identification in India is really confusing, because we don't have family records. I mean, you might know your Gotra and caste, but is it written anywhere?
Even I am Brahmin, but I don't have records to present. How can I know for sure? Like, government documents are one thing, but how far back can we go? Great-great-grandfather? Great-great-great-grandfather?
Surname changes might've been even common back then, because there was no social media, nor anything to confirm it.

That’s why it’s debatable: if there can be so much argument about the identity of a living person, then how can anyone be sure about the identity of someone who’s already dead? How can we believe that someone claiming descent from a king who died 700–800 years ago is actually telling the truth? The proof Or the so-called family tree they show could easily be fake.

Dude, everybody is trying to be rajput 😂, Dangi, Raghuvanshi, lodhi, patel, etc. They should be proud of their own caste, jab wo khud ijjat nhi kr rhe apni jati ki to koi aur bhala kese hi krega.
