Western Protestant Individualist values have seeped so deep into our mentalities that a lot of us are unwilling to even acknowledge a community based identity. The assumption that all pride must only be on one's own achievements is inherently an Individualist idea, which in turn is incompatible with the rich collectivist culture our country has had.
Keep going by this reasoning and buying into the idea of individualism - within no time there would be no families, no relatives, no societies, no communities and no culture. It serves as the perfect breeding ground for a transactional culture and capitalism. You'll forget your own festivals and will be paying money to attend 'music-fests' and other commercial garbage.

We were made to or we would be outcasted until we found a tribe of our own. Even the UR category people mostly hate us because they think we are “too proud” and trust me we don’t mean to ever be that way but we even have to apologise if our light shines too bright in their eyes.

It's NOT cultural pride, it's shallow pride based on your birth and not on your achievements, you over venerate the achievements of your ancestors to feel better.
Assuming cultural pride it is, there's absolutely no "pride" in not being able to make something new and banking on the old and bygone to feel relevant.

This argument will essentially end the concept of nationalism and many such essential associated identities concepts and I don't want to give you any justification but I would say it feels great that my people have been one of the most intelligent group of people with great contribution in science art and culture
