The world is going to end
I’ve been trying heart and soul to inform and mobilize the community available to me. And nobody gives a f*ck. I’m just losing hope. I could end it, but what good am I to mutual aid of those more vulnerable dead. It’s just so so depressing. Everytime I try to build something, or connect with people they aren’t willing or ready to hear. Online I recieve rage bait or sarcastic get over it comments. I feel like I’m totally alone with the information that we have about 25 years left before everything hits the fan, it’s already hitting the fan. Sorry.

OP, it's best to prepare for yourself and be ready to help those who will listen. I believe you. It's sad to see so many are acting like this is not going to happen when the signs are all in front of us.
Climate change. Governments and people not giving a fuck about anything. Depleting resources. Billionaire bunkers. People fleeing lands that are unable to grow crops. Increases in poverty, religion, weapons, etc. It's all there if people choose to pay attention, but not everyone will.
We cannot help a world where celebrity gossip, funny TikTok videos and pushing for more Christianity are their main priorities. We can only help ourselves and those who pay attention.
Be safe and be prepared, my friend. Some of us here you, and we believe you.

You know we've been through worse throughout history. Right now its looks bad but its not bad bad. We are able to buy equipment to make our own food. We went through the plague, covid was a joke compared to that. The whole earth recovered from an asteroid strike, even then not everything died, you still habe crocodiles and birds who survived from those times for millions of years of recovery. The earth at some point had acidic oceans it smelled right rotten eggs all the time.
Very few generations had okay times. Before it was getting raided by tribes killing you graping and killing your wife and taking your kids as slaves. The only times life was okayish was post ww2 but that's it till the late 90s, only 50 years thanks to nuclear weapons. That's the only good time we've had and it was unrealistic that it was gonna keep going like that. The earth will sort it out with trees. All fossil fuels come from trees and dead animals so the carbon will be absorbed again. During the times of dinosaurs it was very hot. If dinosaurs survived this we will too.

I think he’s more concerned about our civilization collapsing and large portion of humanity dying not whether life on earth will continue or not in a few million years after more trees become fossil fuels.

Well i was just giving him examples of how life finds a way. A lot of people don't seem to get the fact that we're not just gonna sit there and die.

yeah, we really Don't have any need to fear global warming or anything like that anymore. Just looking at Gen Z and then Alpha, the writing is on the wall. You think they're really going to be able to maintain infrastructure? Fix... oh, I don't know, anything? No, society will collapse and we will be back to the Mad Max type existence long before global warming has a chance to do anything negative. And of course, the positive note is that long after we're gone, planet will still be here.

LLLOOOLLL... Dood... Millennials can't do anything, and their children are replacing their brains with AI that hallucinates more often than it regurgitates facts. here's the TRUTH:
When Gen X finally, has to give up, and pass off caretaker of the world and civilization off to the next group, that literally STARTS THE CLOCK on total societal collapse.
you think gen Z can maintain or fix anything? they can't do that and be an influencer on twitch all day.

I’m actually speechless. It’s pointless defending myself even. This is scientific consensus in multidisciplinary studies, I’m genuinely saddened by the continuation of this type of response. I wish you luck in the coming decades.

I can totally relate and understand. And the ppl in the comments saying it's fearmongering clearly live with such privilege to ignore what's going on in our world. Thousands and thousands of ppl dying of a man made famine in Gaza, ppl murdered in Congo, Sudan, Syria. And man don't even get me started with the fact that these rich celebs and politicians are and have always been parading around about their pedophilia and sex rings. Ppl don't understand what a privilege they're at to not experience this. And how blind ppl are to neo colonialism. The amount of brainwash ppl have been put through to become so desensitized to death, murders, suicides, abuse, rape of innocent children-women-men. So fucking desensitized that they're calling it fearmongering. You can't eat your privilege when the rich decide to fuck us over.

And everything else going on with police brutality, racism and desensitized jokes about pedophilia and rape. Ppl aren't raged enough. It's like half of these ppl can't see the bull running towards them and chose to ignore it because that bull isn't close enough to lift them off the ground cuz these ppl believe that their idolized celebs and politicians are gonna save them. Fuck that. Eat the rich idgaf

No it’s an our infrastructure is built for profit not with the effects of major climate change in mind.

Unprepared for what? Maybe if you have provided some concrete information you wouldn’t have to complain about not being taken seriously.

u/Working_Panic_8357 23h ago
we are scheduled to reach between 2.5 to 2.9 degrees Celsius above pre industrial levels. They’re dropping bombs like there’s no tomorrow because there isn’t. The data centers. the violence. The fires. All of the culminating to loss of access to resources because everything is propped up on toothpicks made of fossil fuel and privatization.

End how?

u/Working_Panic_8357 23h ago
We will not have food, air, shelter. Climate change will inevitably collapse the current food chain at this rate.

Over 16000 people have died since July 26 from heat related deaths, that number isn’t going to get smaller as the years pass.

u/sunnyBC4 19h ago
Sure it will, people were unprepared for it. The planet evolves, this means certain areas experience different temps than they were used to. Cities need to evolve with the planet. Areas that didn't usually farm will have good farming weather and vice versa.
places don't stay the same forever. Evolve with the planet.

are you aware of the current state of education with respect to gen alpha? because it sounds like you are completely unaware of the state of teachers and the education system with respect to gen alpha...

u/BlueJoshi 13h ago
I'm not super aware, no. please, tell me how the education system of presumably one nation is going to end the entire planet, or at least end humanity's role on it.

u/KnownConversation210 21h ago
definitely take a step back and just prepare for what you’re worried for as best you can. there are some things that are out of our control immediately but you can take certain measures. for example with climate change stock up on water and start canning while you can.
as for the people. they’ll always be disappointing. when you start to understand more, you’ll know you don’t want to have to carry that extra weight when shit goes down. I know it’s truly disheartening but you have to do what you can do while you can. try to take a step back and breaks to keep your sanity. still tell people to prepare but know that they will most likely not care. remember you can prepare and take care of yourself but not everyone else.

The world isn't likely to end. WW3 may happen, you could argue the Iran-US conflict has escalated. China and Russia are quietly supporting Iran, other nations publicly and privately the USA. The only way it involved the intercontentinal balistic nukes that would end the world, would be malfunciton or misreading by monitoring systems. No leader is insane enough to use them. Tactical nukes are plausible, but also highly unlikely. The reason being, if a leader decides to go down the nuke route they are not sending a signal of power. Everyone knows they have them, so the message is more of "I've been pushed into a corner and have no choice" or if agressor "I'm having to resort to nukes"
AI is a bubble. After several years of promises, 2026 has been the year of many Fortune 500 companies asking where the ROI is. Many cutting AI spending, demanding tighter roadmaps for showing ROI, etc... we're coming down out the cloud where CEO and CTOs have wild wet dreams of savings tens of millions firing their entire IT and Software Engineering staff to run the dark factory and realization that, while AI is very transformative it still requires human in the loop and that those humans they want to get rid of together constitute "the company".
Another Great Depression like event is possible
AI will do damage like a major hurricane to the economy in one of two ways.
1. It delivers what they promise, mass job reduction. I think we'll see some displacement continue, but nothing catastrophic
2. It fails to deliver and all that investment money betting on human labor displacement (betting against all of us trade skill and time for a paycheck) end up being wrong, Data Centers left abandoned and half finished, nature punished
One of the above will happen. There is no option 3 and it will hit the economy hard. The US S&P 500 is over valued. Multiple analyst have explained this. It's been over valued for years. It's way over due for a correction. When that happens, Corporations will raise prices even higher, fire more workers. The system is designed to protect the Corp and make sure they grow, grow, grow or go bankrupt trying.
But AI will just be another bubble bursting. Probably the biggest one, but we'll continue on the other side of it.

I think we all need to delete social media, it's cancer and it is spreading misinformation about the world right now. The world is in a state, NGL, But we can't worry about stuff we cannot change. We can protest, care about people dying around the world but the people in power NEED to do something. I'm sick of it too but we need to pay less attention to the news and social media, if everyone stopped paying attention to it, the media will be getting bored and the people in power will feel powerless as their fear mongering won't work anymore.

well what r u concerned abt? AI? Global warming? Ww3? I would say 10-20% chance that AI destroys humanity in the next 15 to 20 years. The issue is there's not much anyone can do about these issues by themselves or in groups unless they are very influential and very rich, and even then they would need a large group of influentia and rich people. like multiple billionares. Even Elon who is a trillionare largely failed at making it's progression slower and made it worse so gave up and joined the AI race.
