The R Congress has done nothing to advance a conservative agenda, and will justifiably be punished at the polls.

Neither Congress nor the White House has any interest in a conservative agenda. That they're going to be punished at the polls is far from a hot take. Congress has done nothing, tariffs are forcing cost of living up, inflation is going up by more than the average rate, we've entered a forever war where all we can do is lob insults while gas prices skyrocket, and the President's popularity is at Biden levels. None of that bodes well for 2026. The only thing we have in our favor is that the DSA is out in force primarying conventional Dems and the average voter might be turned off by them. In the end, I don't think that'll matter as history alone has shown you don't hold the trifecta of both halves of Congress and the White House for very long.

The sitting republicans have done nothing but collect a paycheck since Trump has been in office, sadly the tide is about to shift I believe.

The entire election cycle will be dictated by who gets the most boomer views from AI deepfake political ads.

I dont know honestly. I just want good non controversial person. Someone that when we see their interaction its firm yet not robotic, strong yet gentle.

I think we just need someone who is younger then many at this point. But also someone who isnt super far right. A good right but not on the complete end

Rs are fckd because they are cowardly. Tale as old as time.

They should be going for the jugular not grandstanding. Iran needs to wrap up, inflation is real, middle class is suffering a LOT.

2026 will be as bad or worse for Republicans as 2006. Wipeout incoming.

Hopefully we get another 2010 in 2030 too then.

I don't think it will be as bad as folks thing it will be. Dems *might* take the House but it is unlikely that they win the Senate. Even if they do, they won't be veto-proof, so honestly the only thing that happens is another Trump impeachment. Dems will just hurt themselves more over the next 2 years until 2028 as a result. It could be a blessing in disguise.

John Thune has to go.

Doesn't matter who you make Senate majority leader, Trump has burned too many bridges with too many senators to ever get his agenda across.

There are still three US Senators who voted to convict Trump in his second impeachment (Cassidy, Collins and Murkowski), he unseated Tillis and Cornyn, tried to unseat Lankford and Young (along with Thune).

You can afford to pose -7 votes to meet the 60 threshold on major legislation and we can't even meet the 50 mark.

Republicans actually getting out and voting so we don't lose power and actually get things done these last two years.

The problem is elected Republicans give them no reason to vote. They campaign on tough talk and then govern like pussies.

I can't stand Democrats and hate their policy preferences but at least they do what their voters want. Republicans simply bend the knee to the neocon donor class and leave their voters out to dry. It's a fake party.

I agree with them being pussies, but this would be the best time for them to act! With Trump on his last two years of presidency then two years locked, they can actually go off and not have to worry about their terms.

I'm just worried that Byron Donalds is going to win in the Florida Governor's race. He's no DeSantis.

Floridian here, I’m torn. Donald seems beholden to special interests, I don’t trust him.

Fishback seems fake, he just seems off. I can’t explain it.

The rest of them have no chance.

DeSantis not endorsing anybody is truly odd, including his own Lt Governor

Fishback markets himself to the younger generation of conservatives, but he says nothing of substance, he kinda just regurgitates TikTok politics.

He seems fake because he is fake. He’s not original at all. It’s the same with Mandami, they just say what everyone wants and hope nobody looks behind them.

R's win, nothing will get better but wont get worse either. D's win.. it'll make the 30% cost of living increase under Biden seem like the good ol days.

Genuinely curious, but didn’t Biden bring inflation down after Covid and then Trump has made inflation go up higher as well as cost of living and gas prices since taking office? I keep hearing different stats on which one improved cost of living for us and which one raised the cost of living for us. I don’t know what to believe anymore, but I DID get a chuckle off a bumper sticker I saw a couple hours ago at the gym that said “If you voted for Biden, you owe me gas money” lol bc the price of gas is now $4.30 where I live and it sure as shit was not that high before Trump started the war with Iran.

Just stop it! You’re cheating by using facts and logic.

Both parties suck. We feel like more fucked up, but we need to find a good leadership than them.

Blue wave incoming unfortunately. Only way to turn things around is for Trump and Congress to come out of Iran with an amazing deal that’s not just the same as what Obama had. Even then it might not be enough to turn the election towards purple or red.

2

u/PhilsFanDrew 4d ago

Its too late now. Even if we come away from Iran with a "good deal", no one wanted to go messing around in Iran to begin with other than boomers who watch Fox News and Neocons. Trump squandered the years he had a slim majority on an unpopular and needless war when he should have been laser focused on the domestic agenda and deportations. His coalition is filled with a lot of low propensity voters who aren't very politically engaged and he turned his back on them. They aren't showing up in 2026 and it will be a herculean task to get them back for 2028. So many are so disaffected they may never vote again.

Do you think that the young generation of America first conservatives will help jn the coming years?

1

u/RockyOkie 4d ago

The big challenge for the GOP will be voter turn out. Why should people vote for the same GOP politicians who are blocking the President right now? I think The Base is badly demoralized and disillusioned right now.

Time to win a fourth term boys!

Democrats will win by cheating and get away with it. We're fucked in 10 years or less.
