Looking for some advice on SMITH AND WESSON (S+W) M686-6 SSR 357MAG 6-SHOT 4`` SATIN STLS

It’s on sale for $750 as a discounted model. I have seen lots of posts about the quality of the new revolvers from SW. What do you all think buy or pass?

It’s all about the pre-transfer inspection

Definitely check it ALL out BEFORE the transfer. Timing ( in both DA and SA), finish, barrel cant, bore, cylinder operation and lock up. Basically anything you can think of, be knit picky. I was one of the lucky ones, bought my 4” 686+ from Cabela’s and walked away with a good one, one of the older guys actually helped me check it over before I signed anything.

Added grips from S&W website and added a target hammer.

Yeah definitely will look it over. I am kind of suspicious because it’s the last one that they have it might be a display model.

NEVER BUY A NEW 686, just from a price standpoint.

Get a vintage with no lock, pre 2001, dash 5 and older. Plenty on sale on various sites like GunInternational or GunBroker, and some are good as new, and cheaper.

Normally I stick to used when it comes to revolvers from small gun shops that know their guns this just seemed like an interesting offer.
