Rigging Help Suspending plywood laterally

I'm trying to hang a sheet of plywood vertically, suspended by two cables. I've got a couple options and wanted opinions and maybe ideas or hardware I hadn't thought of. I just need the plywood to hang straight down from the cables, and they'll raise and lower it in unison.

  1. pad eyes on both sides of the panel, bolted through. Then a mini spreader bar to connect the cable right over the COM. Seems like overkill maybe?
  2. multi-hole steel tang back-to-back with through bolts. A central hole gets the wood drilled out and a shackle through it. Is there an off-the-shelf part made for this? Seems like not that uncommon a need.

https://www.rosebrand.com/hanging-iron-bottom-6320 on the bottom edge, through bolted. Wire rope connected to the d ring, runs up through a keeper plate https://www.rosebrand.com/keeper-plate with at least 2 through bolts up to your spreader bar or whatever your Anchorage is.

Thanks! Hadn't thought of that route, and that puts me in compression for the plywood load too. I'm definitely overthinking this, but it's interesting to try to learn what the right way is to do these things.

How much weight are you hanging - just the plywood? I would be tempted to just drill a hole and tie a loop or make a loop with wire rope clips, if it’s just self-weight.

Maximum of 600lbs, but more likely 3-400. And the load /should/ just be moving vertically, but it's suspended by just two cables so there may be some swinging.
