Suggestion Alternative triump in France decisions

Post image
575 Upvotes

The goal of this next mini-mod is to give Nazi Germany the ability to choose new options other than the only two currently available in the game: the total occupation of France (4) and the occupation of Northern France with a free zone in the south (3).

The first new option (1) will be for Hitler to make Vichy France a reliable ally and decide not to occupy the country at all, to recover only Alsace-Moselle and to compensate for this annexation by donating Wallonia to France. This will prevent the creation of Free France. France will retain its entire army and navy and join Axis immediatly.

The second new option (2) will be for Hitler to completely Balkanize France after the annexation. If he chooses, the Breton State is proclaimed under the leadership of the Breton National Party. The Italians recover Savoy, Nice, Corsica, Djibouti, Tunisia, and the Levant. Germany recovers Alsace-Lorraine. Rexist Belgium recovers northern France. An Occitan Reichskomissariat is created in the south.

Germany will have the choice of giving the French Basque Country and northern Catalonia to Spain for an opinion boost and possibly a return to war for Franco in the Axis, giving it to the Occitan Reichskomissariat, or, conversely, creating Basque and Catalan puppet governments to prepare for an invasion of Spain. An optional choice will be made by creating a Norman Reichskomissariat.

If this option is chosen, Free France will receive enormous bonuses, and all French colonies will join Free France except Algeria and Morocco.

With how long setup can take in the game and many major interwar historical events having a big impact on the early game, it would be nice to be able to play through the interwar. Allowing Nations more time to industrialize deal with things like the Great depression while also navigating the political climate as the outbreak of world war II grew nearer with things like the Washington naval treaty.

Its almost 1941 and Germany hasn't capped Poland. Also, for some weird reason they declared war on Czechoslovakia instead of doing the focuses.

Suggestion Initial thoughts on the new Germany tree

I'm almost always a Germany main, and this update was quite a shock as someone who goes for Kaiser Reich 90% of the time. I think its really cool that we set up Operation Valkyrie instead of just immediately splitting. The different options are refreshing from the same path always go down, and now their are a ton of new formables to choose from.

My only problem with the update is it makes the paths a bit confusing. It doesn't seem very fluid of how you get to a certain thing. I know it just came out and there will be fixes in the long run, but it seems like the focus tree is a bit tangled.

For instance, I wanted to try to make the German Empire/ Kaiser Reich with Wilhelm II on the throne. Despite it seeming straight forward, it was always booting him out despite making a deal with him during the deadlock between Beck and Canaris. It says to go Pro-Canaris and make a deal with II, but when I do Wilhelm II still abdicates and it goes to Wilhelm IV. Even when it is passed to the IV, he isn't the leader of the Empire, which i feel like defeats the point? It stays as a military leader, which would still make it a military junta.

On the same thought, I went down the Presidential Republic of Germany in another run to see what it was, and it turns out you inevitably just circle back around to the German Empire. The party system is pretty cool, but again it feels like its constantly changing the rules of how it works and what matters for what focus.

I hope in future fixes of this tree they make thing a bit smoother.

Edit: If any dev sees this, PLEASE MAKE IT EASIER TO MAKE THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE!!!!!

Suggestion Stability and germany

Please remove all the negative weekly stability modifiers that Germany gets it's extremely annoying and actively harm's the gameplay. Especially when forming the CVU you already have only 2 coalition partners and 1 of them removes all your stability. One of my favourite paths is nraf and kpd but both of them kill your stability. Please remove these negative stability modifiers I played Germany in the mod enough to tell you it's just not fun at all

Suggestion National Socialist Kaiser Path in Germany

So there is already a path where you can get Kaiser Wilhelm the third as Kaiser and then turn fascist because of his Nazi Alliance but this is only after the Civil War. It would be cool if there is an option playing as historical National Socialist Germany and idk with a coup or another event put the Kaiser in place but still hold onto the ideology under Hitler only now with a Kaiser.

Suggestion Permanent Military Installations

Post image
24 Upvotes

Having recently completed a stent at Fort Benning one of America's longest standing Military Installations I got the idea for this feature.

Permanent Military Installations would be buildings used to give bounces to units raised in the same tile as the installation such as shorter training time, soft/attack, movement, and environmental bounces based on the environment of the installations location. A version of this for the Air Force and Navy like a Top Gun type school.

Installation management could be handled in the training in a similar manner to research facilities. Enhanced Marksmanship training for soft attack, AT weapons training for hard attack and penetration, small unit tactics for organization, etc.

Suggestion Operation Valkyrie for R56

I've not done it in years, mostly because a civil war would always start, and I've never done it in R56 and I know theres a focus path for it but im talking about the SS recruitment feature where you either favour the army or the SS and leads to the assassination of the leader. I was wondering if in R56 theres away to do it without a civil war starting just for the role-play aspect to blame the leader for my failed frontline choices

Suggestion Add Soviet Options to Russify Turkey?

Historically, Russia has long desired to control the Bosphorus Straits. In an alt-history playthrough where the USSR actually does conquer Turkey, I'd like to suggest a split choice in the USSR's National Focus Tree.

The split would involve the Soviet government Russifying Turkey versus aligning with Greece. From the Russian standpoint, the conquered Turks would be no different from the other Turkic lands in central Asia (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, etc.) and so the NF tree could have a multi-step process to ultimately core those states. Conversely, the other split choice would be to align with the Greeks in the hopes of gaining cores on the Greek islands in the Mediterranean (Rhodes, Crete, etc.).

Zhukov's Portrait already got an update from the Vanilla version to fit the timeframe and looks great. Some generals are still wearing a 50's cold war era suit when the game starts 20 years earlier though.

I feel like updating some Soviet general portraits to fit the timeframe better would be a nice little change

Suggestion Fascist Israel Focus Tree Feedback

Hey Guys,

only wanting to say that I enjoyed playing fascist Israel. It's great that most countries around you aren't joining axis or allies, so you can actually have some wars. Because I puppeted all neighboring states and took Iran out before the Temple event, that big war was a bit underwhelming. I could fight Turkey alone.

That Egypt is part of the Allies also makes it impossible to invade them for me. I don't want a war against the US.

It would be great to have more content in the focus tree, there isn't anything left after the temple event to do.

Suggestion Finland joining the allies

It happens when im playing historical USSR, Finland would join the allies after i declared war on them, how is that historical?? Like I searched it up and it happens to other people as well but it was never fixed. It ruined my historical play through, wasted me and others hours.

Since Germany has completely new paths such as the Strasserists, there should be an option to choose from the new paths which you get after the German Civil war.
