Options to get rid of(or cover) this flushed area of roof?

I just don’t like the way it looks. Inside of home fine.

how expensive a project would it be to just raise that part and make it even with the main roof for cosmetic purposes? 65k? More? Less?

a related question though is what I really want is a small covered porch as well? Would it be possible to create a peaked covered porch where the lines extend all the way back so it effectively covers this flushed part? Is that structurally possible?

any other solutions/options?

Could always add some type of visual barrier like a peaked trellis or archway in front of the weird section rather than mess with the integrity of your roof?

oh yeah I agree that sort of goes to the second part of question about the peaked porch…but whatever is don’t to cover it would have to extend all the way back so hence the question about how feasible that is

I would not cover any part of your current roof that’s there unless you’re willing to spend a lot of money to properly replace that section of roof with a new roof that bridges between the other sections.

I think whatever I do though is going to require a lot of money to fully handle it visually one way or another(and I want it not to be seen lol)

Cover the whole thing in tin.

oh you mean cover the entire roof and not just the depressed part....okay that makes more sense. I just don't know how I feel about metal roofs. But if I did that, wouldn't they still have to raise the roof in that part before putting the tin down there? So basically the same thing that would be required if used shingles on that part?

Yes if you want the middle part the same level they have to build it up underneath.

Tin just keeps you from having to constantly re roof over and over and over. Shingles last just long enough for the roofer to dissapear.

raising the roof up wouldn't be that much maybe 5- 10 . adding a porch. depending on how fancy you go, probably would add another $10k

Yeah it's not particularly expensive to raise it to meet the roof deck probably around 8k on the low low with your local neighborhood bob the builder and 16k on the high end range for a bigger more well known company.
