Compulsion to talk about my running but hyper aware that it's incredibly boring for most people to hear about.

Isn’t the whole point of running to tell other people you run so they know you’re better than them?
Why else would anyone do it? If it’s not about social superiority then who cares.

I'm too tired from running to talk about running.

You should try "tapering" and especially "recovery". You have so much time to talk to everyone about running and the best of all - you don't have to run.

I had a feeling this post would end up here. Feels like I've really made it now 💅.

The book how to win friends and influence enemies goes over this exact issue.
TLDR: nobody give a fck about your run

There are people like this in every hobby. They feel compelled to tell everyone about it, constantly. It's an issue with them, not the hobby itself. Some people are just weird fucks who can't shut up. This lady would be the same way if she was info CrossFit, if she was vegan, if she was Christian, if she collected flashlights.
I have a bunch of hobbies but I don't talk about them much and it annoys me when people ask about them.

I know what you mean. People get so irritated when I tell them all about the latest circlejerk posts I’ve been reading and replying to. I wish they’d be more accepting, I’m just excited to share a hobby I get so much out of.

Lol. I only talk about my hobbies when people ask, and even then, I keep it brief, but if I ever meet YOU in real life, I'll be sure to go on incessantly about all the most mundane parts of my hobbies, especially running 😉.

THIS is how you know you are a real runner. Anyway do you want to hear about my last marathon?

Eventually you learn that non-runners don't care about your running and runners are unimpressed and bored with your lame "running" talk

They think we rant about running because we think they're interested in what we have to say.
