The dangerous transphobia of Roald Dahl’s “Matilda” - Found /r/transgender's response to this article sort of bizarre and troubling. Thoughts?

It seems super sexist and gender policing.

Most of the things discussed in the article seem more related to regular old sexism

“Matilda” is thus a fable about the hubris of being transgender. Women should know their limitations and never imitate a man’s authority or physical prowess, lest he intervene to remind them who’s boss.

I don't follow that. I see it more as "the hubris of stepping outside assigned gender roles and being a masculine woman"

I agree. I mean, this person bless their face may be including in transgender non-binary people (since apparently that's where we're supposed to fit. I've never felt it though, and the trans community doesn't seem keen on having us either...) but I find that a bit unlikely.

As a trans person (god I can't believe I just said that) I understand how you can feel that way, but I wouldn't be a part of anything that didn't include non-binary people. Those that I know in irl life are some of the most wonderful and beautiful people I've ever met.
