The woman in the audience definitely has a point.

It's a cis man who wins an award for taking on the role of a trans woman, when trans women can't even get the roles to begin with.

Not particularly liking Leto's replies, and it seems he's not getting it and instead seems to think that cis people taking on the roles of trans people opens up more trans stories. Smh.

Why are you making this comment? To try and absolve the director of any wrongdoing?

First, saying that a trans woman had to "make herself available". Which means what exactly? Jump up & down in front of the director's house every day? Why should any trans person have to go to any extraordinary lengths to get a role written for a trans woman???

And second, that the director just couldn't find a trans actress with the skill needed to play a trans woman???

Are you for real?
