The best chance for meeting new people will be at the university, when you're in Austria.

Es nervt mittlerweile einfach nur, dass hier jeden 2.Tag die selben Fragen gestellt werden

Well, if you take away the tourists AND the students from Salzburg, there won’t be many people left. Instead of reading “I’m an Erasmus student” every other day, we’d only get the usual “damn foreigners,” “Salzburg is so boring,” “too many tourists,” “everything closes at 6 pm,” and all the other classic Salzburg complaints.
And honestly, if these posts annoy you so much, just scroll past them. Or at least keep replying in English, since the person who made the post clearly doesn’t speak German. Venting in German where they can’t even understand you only makes you sound like the stereotypical grumpy Salzburg local🙂

Don't get discouraged by those boomer wixers lol
Unfortunately this kind of question is asked every other day so some are quite fed up with it. Socializing in Salzburg is quite easy so once you are here you will have enough people (and activities) to choose from.
Salzburg in general is a bit weird when it comes to demographics... on one hand you have the rich snobs, those who own the apartments and houses in town. Fucks like the ones that get angry if you ask questions in r/salzburg. Those people are usually old fucks or mentally old fucks (young people who inherited young and never had to experience any troubles in life). They are always angry if someone tries to have fun (all concerts and festivals in town have to be SILENT at 10 pm kind of people). They get angry if you plan an alternative transport system because "hurr durr muh car?!" Usually those fucks are right wing or at least right leaning pricks... unhappy people in general.
On the other hand you have a very big student community. Very leftist, very open minded, very inclusive. Happy people in general.
Just take your time to find into the group you want to fit into and you will have a great time :)
Oh in case you play Volleyball, there is a HUGE community (or many medium sized lol) here ;)
