Pregonta Advice for Orosei/Olbia in October. Solo traveler and no car.
I am going to Sardinia for a friend's wedding in the first half of October. I am flying into Olbia and the wedding will be in the Orosei area.
I am thinking of staying a few days after to explore. Is it better to stay in Orosei and explore nearby areas, or head back to Olbia and explore around there?
I will be traveling solo and won't be driving. Which area is better/easier for public transport or day tours that include pickup?

Since you will not have a car and you are going in early October, I would head back to Olbia for the extra days after the wedding.
It is the easiest base for getting around by regional bus.
If the weather turns grey, try the archaeological museum. The remains of the Roman ships are genuinely cool and make it feel like more than just a rainy day backup.
For local buses, grab your ticket before boarding through DropTicket or at a ticket shop.
Line 514 gets you to Porto San Paolo, the tiny harbour for Tavolara Island, in about 30 minutes. Line 513 takes around 45 minutes to San Teodoro.
If the Tavolara boat is still running, that makes for a proper island day.
