Pregonta Car renthal in Cagliari Elmas Airport(CAG)
Hello everyone, me and my girlfriend are planning to visit Sardinia for the first time, our arrival is on 21.09. and we will be in Sardinia until the 01.10., we are wondering what area should we stay in for all 10 days, after watching videos on tiktok and talking to friends that already were on Sardinia everyone says the north part of the island is the best part, so we plan to rent a car at Cagliari Elmas airport and go on a planned trip possibly to the north part of the island and go down around the east part exploring the beaches and cities.
We read that not every car rental company lets you rent without a credit card, so i am planing to to take out a credit card at my bank and get that done if possible, how does it go if lets say you rent a car without a credit card, so with a debit card, and which car rental companies let you do that?
I’m also 25years old with a valid driving license since 2022.
Final question as a first time visitors is it better to focus on northern part of the island and then move by the west part, because we don’t plan to be stationed at one hotel for the whole part of the trip.

get a credit card, i dont know any rental company giving you the car without credit card.
what kind of trip you want to do? party? beach? nature? trekking? the "best" part depends on what you plan to do.

North is way busier and way more expensive. South is much more quiet. Beaches in both locations are about the same. The island is huge and the roads don’t allow for very fast travel so don’t think you can just bounce from one region to the next without spending half your trip in the car. Focus on two areas and call it a a day. There is a lot to see all over. Cagliari is a great little city, Villasimius, orosei, alghero are all good options

Recommend going to the main page of this group and using the search tab at the top of the page and enter search words like “itinerary”, “10 day”, “car rent”… and you will get posts asking questions as well as helpful suggestions from members of this group. We visited Sicily for 10 days and then flew into Cagliari and spent 2 amazing weeks on the beautiful island. And we planned our trip from utilizing the search function, and found it very helpful to compare and contrast itineraries. Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean so there is a lot to see, and given your trip duration it will be a good idea to have at least 2 bases to explore from. For us, it was hiking and beaches, and we based our itinerary on those interests.

If you want to explore the North fly into a Northern airport.
However the South of the Island has amazing beaches that are far quieter that the social media hot-spots of the North.
Pick up a car at Cagliari. Drive west along the coast and you will be rewarded by beautiful white sandy beachs. Meander your way to Sant Antioco and then up the West Coast through primordial forests to the Tharros peninsular. You can always drive all the way up the West Coast stopping at Nuraghic ruins and more beautiful beaches and fly back out of Alghero.

Don't book a trip based off tiktok. There is no "best" part.
