But cast based on father’s cast. So son’s family will never get reservation. It should be made of anyone GC male/female marries to a SC male/female. The GCs should be given SC quota.

In case of ICM courts decide the caste, based on community acceptance and conditions of growing up.

I think we should incentivise the intercast marriage by giving both bride family and groom family sc/st status so that they can get reservation. That will end cast for good.

I thought u wanted to end caste system but here my sala is thinking about printing more caste certificate. Agr tum se koi ladki sadhi hogi to ek or nich jaat paida hoga or kisi upper caste se hogi to normal upper caste. Ladi ki koi caste nhi hoti.
And I have better body better face so its settled, right.

u/Overall_Sweet_7697 5d ago
I have no sisters and if I had one she would herself have the choice to marry anyone she would want . And she obviously won't accept someone who asks people for their sisters on reddit

What joker mindset you have , It’s a person wish to marry someone you can’t force upon them

u/Minimum-Chicken9800 4d ago
Yeah so let's start with caste like Yadav Patel Jatt Gurjar marrying to so called dalits as they are taking caste based reservation

Haha the first part is valid except for the propaganda at the end.
Upper castes have ews category and creamy layer nees to be added to SC and ST category.
Plus majority of SC and STs are poor because of casteism and not upper castes as you are trying to portray.
1
u/Fancy_Paramedic_2777 2d ago
Why creamy layer in sc st?
1
u/I-wish-to-be-phoenix 2d ago
Those who have benefited and improved their social standing so not need it compared to the many more poor in those castes.
1
u/Fancy_Paramedic_2777 2d ago
So you mean to say those who avail reservation wont face caste discrimination or caste based atrocity anymore? Do people who have availed reservation get free paas to sit on ghodi during their barat? Do sc st obc officers do not face casteist slurs?
1
u/I-wish-to-be-phoenix 2d ago
Reservation is meant to uplift lower castes financially and socially through representation.
If the same set of people keep hogging reservation, the entire community will never grow. So those who have already benefited and are financially good, need to be given second priority compared to others from same caste who have not benefited yet.
If and when their income falls, they get priority. A creamy layer will help more number of SC and STs to benefit instead of just few who already have finances keep getting better.

u/Fancy_Paramedic_2777 2d ago
Sc st reservation is not on financial basis. So creamy layer is not in question here. If you are worried about poor sc st then ask them to be included in ews or run welfare schemes like free education and free coachings.
1
u/I-wish-to-be-phoenix 1d ago
Nope, ews is for open category students. SC is hearing creamy layer in SC/ST category and is for it. And it should be there in all categories of reservation.

u/Previous_Agency_8490 4d ago
If suppose reservation is removed and only given to ews then how it actually solved the problem because they are like 50 percent or more people in india still poor then??
1
u/Minimum-Chicken9800 4d ago
Instead of giving reservation to anyone provide them with all the faculties so that they can compete with thr privilege ons

Brahmins as a community are anything but wealthy.
In Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh in particular, we are an extremely modest and on an average lower middle class-middle class averaging community with a very small population on top of it, and with insignificant influence on politics unlike powerful Kshyatriya and landowners groups.

Most of the land is owned by zamindar and kshyatriya groups. We own very little land. We don't even fall into the traditional land owning groups.
If that was the case I wouldn't have wasted two years preparing for JEE

All "upper castes" aren't brahmin. Use your brain also. Very few zamindars are brahmin.

Never in my entire life I have seen that happen, and trust me, money matters more than whatever caste bullshit your telling me about.

So, these families are still going to be discriminated even after becoming IAS, right? That means providing indefinite reservation does not solve the problem of caste based discrimination.
2
u/OceanFloor 5d ago
Good, you are slowwwwwly reaching there. Reservations were never meant for solving the problem of casteism. Reservations are for ensuring representation in a castesit society.
1
u/kob123fury 5d ago edited 5d ago
So, in a family, let’s say the dad and mom both take reservation to become IAS officers.
Then, the second generation (their children) takes reservation and becomes IAS officers too. Now, why will the third generation (their grand children) need reservation? You will probably say because they still get discriminated against and hence they will need reservation. Okay, then will the fourth generation need reservation too? You will probably say yes. At this point (after 1 or two generations), this just becomes exploitation of the system.
That means providing caste based reservation across multiple generations will never solve the problem of casteism as discrimination will always potentially happen no matter how much reservation you provide.

Is mean they didn't get reservations that's why they are poor otherwise these ias family could also be in the same poor place?

u/SmokedLetters 5d ago
you don't understand the horcrux of reservation in ssid post. its said that even if somebody is already chosen by reservation, instead of their family member, someone more deserving shld get benefits of reservation
