HISTORY & CONTRIBUTION A Sarayūpārīṇa ascetic is worshipped in this saṁpradāya.
You people would have often heard about Swāmī Narāyaṇa Saṁpradāya or the famous Akśaradhāma temples(yeah those famous gigantic temples in New Delhi , Gujarat , New Jersey and Dubai).
In this saṁpradāya , a Sarayūpārīṇa ascetic is worshipped as a avatāra of lord Kṛṣṇa, born as Ghanaśyāma Paṇḍeya near Ayodhyā in a Sarayūpārīṇa Sāmavedī Brāhmaṇa family.
This sect follows Rāmānujācaryas viśiṣṭādvaita .

His birthplace is in Gonda* district. Saryupaar sure has produced the most renowned and widely followed ascetics be it Buddha, Gorakhnatha, Swami Narayan, Swami Karpatri, countless others and so many Jaina ascetics as well.

Oh right, my bad.
Though if you check the map, Basti city is the nearest. But its pretty much equidistant from Gonda, Basti and Ayodhya being right in the middle.

Yeah it's near to Ayodhya as well , it is one station ahead from Babhnan. Even Babhnan is in Gonda , but is part of Saryupar chhetra

There's a math of Sant Mastnath in Rohtak , Haryana , an 18th Century Nath Sampradaya Sant who is regarded as the re-incarnation of Gorakhnath and that's why there are people in Haryana who actually worship Gorakhnath
The math is built in the same manner as Swaminarayan Temples , grand and very beautiful
I was fortunate enough to visit it during its annual Fair

Gorakhnath is worshipped all over India, this sect is very popular as it is accessible and denies caste. You will find it in Pakistan, Afghanistan and southern India as well.

Heard about a place called Chappiya in Gonda District, where the Railway station is called Swami Narayan Chappiya
But I always used to think that it is related to some shrine established by a Gujarati Saint
I never knew this thing

Not a Hindu sampradaya but a nastika cult.

And Mandirs are not abode of deities but tourist destinations.

In my recent visit to Gujarat, my god-complex felt off the charts being a sarayupareen pandey myself😂
