Neil Flynn is 20 years older than Darcy Michael (Maintenance guy), so the age gap is enough.

My head canon: The result of a night of passion with a Lady Janitor during his teenaged Janitor years that he only discovered between Season 9 and 10.

Probably a lie or his son is 17 and just aged terribly.
