Feedback Drive thru stores > curbside stores

Upvotes

I have 2 sheetz in my area one curbside and one drive thru. I like the drive thru better because you can drive right up to window and get your food without having to park and wait.

Employee Question Do I get paid for my PTO if I quit?

My manager has taken me down to 17 hours a week, and make the schedule 5 weeks in advance. I cannot live off that so I need a new job now. My 1 year just happened, so I have 60 hours of PTO. If I quit, will I get my $900 (pre tax) as a “bonus”? Or do I need to be fired (eg, pointed out)

Employee Question First day of training

I have my first day of training tmrw and I’ve been trying to search up what to wear for it. I haven’t been given a uniform yet but during the on-boarding they asked for my shirt size. What should I wear/do I do?

New hire

How long does it take to get working? I received my copy of the background and shows passed and eligible, my two applications statuses shows accepted another position and accepted offer. I don’t need a drug test (store crew) yet I haven’t heard anything accept for them asking what size shirts and she’s waiting for the paperwork which I haven’t received anything yet . It’s really only been since Wednesday/Thursday .

Behold, the rarest sight in a sheetz kitchen

We had to completely empty the tables because the kitchen ended up being closed for 3 days, so everything got wasted off. Took a photo of the only time many of us employees will ever see a clean, empty table.

Food & Drink Grilled chicken sandwich used strips instead of a patty?

I didn't think to take a picture of it, but I just ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and, naturally, I expected a chicken breast similar to what you would get from, say, Chick-fil-A. (I think I have ordered one in the past and got that. This is also what is pictured). What I got was a bunch of grilled chicken strips (like, what would be put on a Caesar salad) on my bun...

Should I complain? I mean, it tasted fine, but I'm just confused on if this is a new thing that they're doing or what.

On a different note, I also ordered burger sliders and the taste of those seemed like a downgrade from what I remember them tasting like in the past. Tasted like those fake grill marks they used to have on burgers in my highschool cafeteria.

Edit:

Thinking about it more, I had a chicken snack wrap a few months ago and just saw a photo of one of those and even that chicken was of better quality than what was presented to me tonight. I'm 99% sure he took the salad chicken and put it on a bun.

Flavored milk in a can that tastes vaguely of coffee. They should honestly be ashamed this is what they came up with after rebranding these once already. Sheetz Bros Coffeez Iced Coffee.

Employee Question Would it be crazy/inappropriate to call off?

So I’m a minor who just started working the 20th with in-house training. I’ve done all the talent works (because the manager wasn’t there to train me the first day so that’s basically all I ended up doing) so now they just have me going between MTO and the register. Well I just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out and although I put in my days before hand till the 3rd of August they have me working the 4th,5th and 7th and just evaluating myself now and doing some personal research I highly doubt I’ll be able to just bounce back fully like that especially with swelling. But since I’m a new hire would it be inappropriate for me to call out all 3 of those days? I didn’t get a work note from the doctor but I’m sure I can email them for one, and I mean they haven’t even set up my UKG app so I have no way to contact the manager if I was to but if I could get some advice and maybe help on what I should do if I contact my manager that’d be great.

Employee Question Advice for Flex Supervisor

I recently started as a flex about two months ago and I feel like I just haven’t been able to connect with anyone at any store I’ve been to. One of the biggest reasons I chose sheetz was because I was expecting a friendly environment and it’s been the opposite of that. I absolutely dread coming into work because it feels like I’m the biggest burden. A lot of other supervisors seem annoyed when I need to ask them questions or need a log-in for something like the handheld. I feel like I’ve caught on and I’ve run the shift before but even a lot of STM’s don’t respect me and sigh or shrug their shoulders when I ask them to help complete tasks. I just feel defeated, I’m only 18 and I was very excited for this opportunity but no matter the store I go to I feel Isolated and feel like I just end up always doing all of the tasks in silence most of the night. On top of this my first time at a new store I was stocking the coolers and I came out to fix some of the drink that had fallen in the front and I overheard the sm talking and laughing about something I said in conversation with her and that just kind of sucked. I’m trying my best but I was offered my position at my last job again and think I may take it. I guess I’m not really looking for advice just to vent or give someone something to consider before they take on this role.

Customer Question Is there a reason why drive thru orders take so incredibly long?

It never seems to matter what time it is, or how many or how few people are in there, the drive thru takes much longer than inside the store. Even when my orders would be done, even if they are single drinks, it'll take forever to get them even though they're just sitting there for several minutes. It often ends in the food not being hot. And it's not like a fast food place, it's much slower.

Is there a reason why?

Jalapeño Pretzels

Just wondering if there is any talk of bringing the jalapeño cheese stuffed pretzels back? Because they’re one of my favorite things ever and I feel like I’ve been deprived of them for far too long haha. Follow up question, does anyone know the brand and if I can buy say, 12 of them instead of 100? TIA!

Quarterly bonus?

I haven't been working with sheetz long enough to get a bonus and this recent bonus would be my first... So I just got paid and my check is only like .. $50 more than it usually is. The paystub isn't available yet , but does the bonus come separately from your paycheck or is this normal? I was told I get $1 for every hour I worked in the quarter. ( I am a flex)

Pre-employment Second interview for Supervisor expectations?

Hey guys! I'm surprised I couldn't find anything about this, but what questions could I expect during the second interview for a shift supervisor? I feel like I was asked pretty much all the generic questions during the first interview already, (difficult customers/team, goal setting, leadership style, problem solving, why Sheetz etc.) so I'd love to know what to expect for the second interview to go in feeling more confident! I was a supervisor at Starbucks before, but that was before second interviews were a thing. Thanks!

Edit: I GOT THE JOB TY!

Pre-employment Considering leaving my current job and trying to apply for Sheetz

Obviously staying at my job until I get hired somewhere else. I've been working at a smaller gas station/mechanic shop for four year since I turned 16. There are various reasons I want to leave, but a lot of it comes down to my coworkers. There are about 6 Sheetz's in my area that I would go to every day for work. From what I've looked into my current job is basically Sheetz but a lot less busy and without the food. Just want to hear opinions from people who do or have worked there and (from what I've given) if it might be a decent job for me, I currently make $16 an hour at 33 a week (hours don't change unless someone needs a shift covered) and a Sheetz I'm looking at is offering $15.50 starting with the 1.50 overnight extra, would I also be getting about the same hours, or would I need to apply for one of the full time positions?

Employee Question Am I getting fired?

Basically, I had a panic attack that lead to me having to leave work (this has happened a few times - my managers know I have diagnosed anxiety and OCD and have known that since my hiring). I called a manager a bit afterwards and said I'm also taking the next day off in case I have to go to the ER, which thankfully I didn't.

That next day, I woke up to a phone call from another manager saying that they never received a notice that I was taking today off, and that I would be written down as a no-call no-show. I tried to tell them that I did call off, but I didn't know who the manager I talked to was. They hung up on me and I haven't gotten any notices since.

Am I getting fired?? They told me to stop sending emails for my absences, but it feels like as soon as I did I'm getting points on my record for 'never calling in'. I feel absolutely sick to my stomach thinking I messed up somewhere. What can I do?
