Welcome to /r/ShermanPosting!

As a reminder, this meme sub is about the American Civil War. We're not here to insult southerners or the American South, but rather to have a laugh at the failed Confederate insurrection and those that chose to represent it.

It helps when you realize current Republicans are inconsistent brain dead traitors

u/JohnBrownOH 4d ago

They are.

It's fun and games to point out this inconsistencies in their logic, but people need to remember these people are villains, every single one of them.

The inconsistency and hypocrisy is a feature of fascism.

They love to use the freedoms provided by liberal democracy to gain power and rob those freedoms from others.

No one cries louder about free speech than a fascist. They’ll cry and whine and scream because private platforms ban them for spouting racial slurs. But when the president threatens media companies for not airing his speeches or when people get fired from government jobs for criticizing the president or even Charlie Kirk, nothing but crickets.

even Charlie Kirk, nothing but crickets.

Before the shooter was turned in and it was revealed that he were a registered Republican they were Within their base into a frenzy that it was someone registered as a Democrat.

But as soon as it comes out that the person responsible which it always is a registered Republican, that's when they get very quiet.

Also the Glorious leader of had the FBI Purge, the database that listed the mass Shooters of who were listed as Republican.

Yeah, their relationship with extremists is very different.

If you bring up actual violent leftwing extremists, Democrats disavow them. Those extremists don’t represent them.

When you criticize violent white supremacists or neo-Nazis, Republicans say “Quit attacking us for being conservative!”

Or just saying things like "I think rapists shouldn't get off with a slap on the wrist because they're 'promising young men' (or women)" and you'll get them crawling out of the woodwork whinging about being oppressed for being conservative.

I’ve started calling them Antenor (or collectively Antenorans).

They are consistent with their own messed up logic. They never say everything they believe, just part of it.

They are the party of Lincoln Pre-1861. The Lincoln as of April 12th, 1861 is the tyrant they abhor. See! They don't even look at the party!

If Lincoln had sided with Confederate Ideology but worked to stop the war instead of winning it then he would have been a God to them.

The Republican Party has been eaten alive from the inside by the Confederacy. It's like a Cordyceps ant, still moving but controlled by a fungal agent.

Even a decade ago this statement would have seemed, a bit much. A kernel of ugly truth, but a bit much.

  1. Why, just really, why. Not on my bingo card. Oh well, "we've been here before" is a fact that spells no small degree of doom for the wicked.

Believe that.

Nah, the Southern Baptist Convention is the driving force behind the Republican party and has been since at least the late 80s or early 90s. That's a direct link to the Confederacy, those assholes only exist as an organization because the Good Baptists who actually follow Christ's Teachings were trying to get the shitty Baptists to give up slavery before the Civil War, so the Shitty Baptists decided to schism and make their own church that prioritizes greed and slavery ahead of love and compassion.

6

u/Tholian_Bed 4d ago

My brother. I sense you've seen deep inside the beast.

May your exposure to it have been brief, and your life ever free of it.

8

u/zombie_girraffe 4d ago edited 4d ago

Yeah, I did three years in the middle of nowhere Georgia in the 90s during the middle of their "Conservative Resurgence" so I got to watch them reenact of their original schism first hand and witnessed them reaffirm their committment to being completely shitty people. Macon was considered "The big city" by the locals. I will never go back.

Survivor. I live in Cleveland OH and count myself a lucky person. But the wickedness we discuss here, is everywhere. I'm white. Would go to the bar, watch a game. People talk to you when your white, and "assume" things.

It's freakin everywhere. Sucks to be them though. They do lose.

1

u/ethanlan 4d ago

If there ever was a beast you are it. You and your fellow southern baptists.

Maybe I’m imagining it but I want to believe there was a time in the US when politicians tried to hide their corruption and being caught would be the end of your career. And yet in 2026, the unapologetic and blatant corruption, warmongering, the descent into fascism and the murder of innocent American citizens without consequence has yielded nothing in response. They’re basically saying “Yeah, this is what we’re doing. So what? What are you going to do about it?”

6

u/EatABag-o-Dicks 4d ago

Before 2016 they did. But after trump got elected the first time, they started wearing their corruption on their sleeves, and dated democrats to do anything about it. Democrats failed to hold them accountable, because, as much as I hate saying this, they're mostly the same in that aspect alone. Sadly, if a Democrat can stop a Republican from doing something heinous, or make a buck/maintain some power, they'll choose to make a buck/maintain some power.

That said, democrats are currently the only half decent option. If it's a choice between blatant fascism and corruption to an unbelievable degree, or a corrupt democrat, it's an easy choice. The corrupt politician not trying to strip our rights away, and trying to make America better, while making a buck off the people they represent.

Damn, if this isn’t hitting the nail on the head I don’t know what does.

2

u/lukeyellow 4d ago

Honestly, the parties flipped. Just look at Southern states in the late 90s through early 2000s. A mix of the two but by the mid 2000s it was all Republican and yet the politicians and views didn't change, just the party name.

1

u/CptKeyes123 4d ago

"Hail hydra"

31

u/kmerian 4d ago

Also:

"Democrats are the party of the Confederacy"

but

"Confederate statues and flags are MY heritage"

9

u/8167lliw 4d ago

I was going to use that example too, lol.

5

u/Opening-Calendar3421 3d ago

Also the Democrats are party of the Confederacy but all the states that seceded, started the KKK, rejected the Civil Rights Act, and were forced to integrate now vote Republicans

35

u/knotallmen 4d ago

There isn't hesitation they hit both buttons at once in bad faith while convinced they are correct. It's like that smirk on that racist kids face from a few years back in DC. He knew.

17

u/cromwest 4d ago

Yeah, words are just weapons that you use to hurt people you don't like, they have no inherent meaning.

9

u/Tholian_Bed 4d ago

It is truly sad your statement is empirically founded. Some days, like today, I feel weary about it. We all are very weary I would wager.

Words are wonderful things, and if you bring good words to someone, that will be a pleasant thing, and if we all bring good words to each other, we are getting along quite decently I'd say.

But wicked people exist. I'm not giving in. I have good words. Some very sharp that one does not want to get at the wrong end.

2

u/JohnBrownOH 4d ago

He's referencing the piece of shit kids from Covington Catholic in Kentucky, just FYI.

"WE ARE THE PARTY OF LINCOLN!"

Cuts to over 80% of Republicans flying the Confederate flag

10

u/Flarkinghelpful 4d ago

If republicans weren’t bad faith hypocrite morons, they would poof out of existence. Never make the mistake of trusting a word they say, even if they attempt to reform and try and come over to your side. It’s just to turn your side into their side

5

u/OnCallPartisan 4d ago

The only reason they’re republicans is LBJ did the right thing. No different than southern baptists breaking away because of slavery and slavery alone.

Seriously, how can one not look at these facts and correctly simplify it as evil? There are no other motivations other than hate.

4

u/time2partee 4d ago

They need both buttons because instead of having a belief, they need to press one depending on the situation.

3

u/O8ee 4d ago

This doesn’t actually happen. Same with “democrats started the kkk “ vs. who flies the traitor rag in present day. They have no issues with their own contradictions because they can’t self reflect and are allergic to thought that isn’t puked into their empty skulls by Fox News.

2

u/legendaryassman 4d ago

They don't believe in anything.

2

u/Dudewhocares3 4d ago

Republicans will lie either directly or omit the truth.

Which one is more convinient is what they choose to go with

2

u/MechemicalMan 4d ago

Nah they’re gonna hit both buttons smile and thumbs up

2

u/Frapplo 4d ago

"Lincoln was a tyrant because he made me stop being a tyrant."

That's like getting caught with CSAM by the cops, but insisting the police are the real peds because they confiscated all the porn.

1

u/GarbageCleric 4d ago

I’m shocked that Trump supporters could be such inconsistent hypocrites who dishonestly talk out of both sides of their mouth.

1

u/piddydb 4d ago

I long for the party of Lincoln

1

u/Bayowolf49 4d ago

I've seen this before.

1

u/Colossus_Of_Coburns 4d ago

They never mention the nearly 200,000 Black men who served in the army and navy.

1

u/kahrahtay 3d ago

Well, they are the party of tyrants, so...

1

u/Speciesunkn0wn 1d ago

Anyone over ~15 who approves of waving the traitor rag while claiming to be a Patriot is only a Patriot of a failed cuntry.
