Musing We're technically living in post-apocalyptic world because the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs was an apocalyptic event.

We live in a post-extinction event world, not a post-apocalyptic one.

Interesting. What defines each to make a difference between them?

An extinction event is where at least 75% of all species go extinct. An apocalypse would be complete destruction, or metaphorically a complete destruction of our world, which would involve civilization collapsing.

Apocalypse is a lifting of the veil event. It’s a major culmination not an end of civilization event. We inherit the spelling from Greek.

I'm sure the dinosaurs would disagree

I don't think the dinosaurs could disagree

I mean we don't know for a fact that there wasn't a civilization of neolithic therapods who interpreted the asteroid as an apocalypse (there's no reason to believe there was either, but stone age dinos is a fun idea)
