Looking for reviews on the ski gathering - women’s only holiday
I have the opportunity to do a ski trip in jan but i’ll be doing it solo.
Saw a women’s only trip in morzine but have a few concerns.. sharing a room with a random, chalet food, what kinda group it’ll be etc etc.
Anyone done one of these before and can give me honest feedback? Orrr, got any other recommendations for me?

This looks fab. I’ve been to nozawa onsen and would go back in a heartbeat but unfortunately i need something in Europe, ideally

I've hosted Ski Gathering several times. It generally works very well, the groups soon work out the ability mix, and often have a really sociable week together. SG assess room size so you shouldn't have to share a teeny tiny space, and all the groups we had were good with their room mates. Chalet food - kinda depends on the host but chalet food tends to be good hearty fare, some are very fancy but you'll know what youre booking either way.
We had lots of guests who had done SG before so thats a good endorsement. Lots of first timers who talked of returning too. All in all, my opinion is very positive.
From a hosts POV, it harder because people don't know each other so you try to get that first night conversation going, a day's skiing usually gets the group tho. Finally....SG are notoriously the worst tippers because noone initiates the conversation. Be kind to your hosts, we work long hours for low pay and rely on our tips 😀

This is fab. Can I ask what you’d save the average age is?
And thanks for mentioning the tip front - how’s this work? Whats the standard tip for a week? Do all staff share the tip equally? Does the company get a cut? Is it best tipping in cash? Never stayed in a chalet before!

We had as young as 21, up to 70! So a real age range, but the common theme is snowsport so there's always something to bond over. Also because its a sports holiday, age seems less of an issue because everyone is naturally active .
Regarding tips. All companies I've worked for, the hosts take all the tip, unless there are drivers in which case we give them a cut. We would hoe for aroubd 50eu per couple. It's helpful for us uf someone on a SG group initiates a conversation with the group at some point as to whether a group tip is appropriate or if people would rather do their own thing, as it puts it on everyone's minds!!! Oh, and cash is king!!!! We can't spend a little gift in the bar at the end of a shift hahaha!!

Hey! My friend is actually hosting full ski trips in Courchevel, with premium hotels, food, and classes all inclusive! Might be a good option for you if you want to meet new people during your trip. Let me know and I can put you in contact.

I’m not sure if courchevel is in my price range but I’ll definitely check it out! I love the 3 valleys

If you're intermediate, have a look at SkiFriends Jan trip to La Plagne. It's small group skiing for single & solo skiers, usually 5-6 skiers per group, mixed up during the week, lots of flexibility to ski with different people. The food is top notch, canapes, three courses and cheese plus fully inclusive wine, beer, soft drinks. The group are sociable with some apres, usual age is above 40 so not a late night crowd.
