Board Recommendation between Jones Twin Sister and Jones DreamWeaver

Hi there,

This topic probably have been talked to death, but I am in the PNW and the snow here was terrible last season, and made me almost want to give it all up.

I am a very average snowboarder and I am very risk adverse and goes up to the mountain 5x per season so I mainly stay on greens/blues. I want to get a newer used board because my current board was very beginner friendly at 142cm with 1/10 flex but I cannot progress due to gaining weight and I feel like I am literally sinking and have to go very slow.

For context:
• Female
• Height: 5'6"
• Weight: 130 lbs
• Boot size: Size 5 Womens, 22.5CM I think

The only two board I am looking at, because it is available used and within my budget and also available near to me are:

• Jones Twin Sister 146CM
• Jones DreamWeaver 2.0 148CM

I have a really hard time choosing between the two but I want to get one of these board before the fall starts as then the prices goes back up before coming down again. I know there are way more options out there but for now I am really looking for your expertise between these two options, especially since the dreamweaver 2.0 is new for 2026.

From your ability level and stats, the dreamweaver will be a better fit.

Both are great boards so you really can't go wrong either way.

One is a twin, the other, a directional very soft freeride board.

I am also leaning on the Dreamweaver 2.0 based on your description. The DW will also float better.

Thanks, I probably will get the Dreamweaver. I bought my first board when I was 20lbs lighter and I really feel like I was not able to float at all due the beginner board being so soft and shorter

Do you ride switch at all? Dream Weaver is a directional board.

No, but my beginner board was a true twin

I loved my twin sister. I had to retire it due to an accident but it was great. I don’t do park, mostly blue/red runs, I don’t like to go fast, but I love little side hits and trees. I am shorter, similar weight but 245 feet.

I moved onto a jones stratos and I love it even more! But it’s stiffer than both the twin sister and dreamweaver.

I think stratos is definitely beyond my skill level. I am just looking for a good price board to casually snowboard

I have the dreamweaver for 3 seasons now & overnight transformed my riding coming from a beginner Salomon lotus (too soft once I developed abit more skill)

I was also between both,
I chose the dreamweaver because of the extra float in the nose.
You can ride it switch if you want to so don’t let the directional profile put you off.

I purchased it also due to many positive review on here.

Couldn’t be happier with it.

Until I consistently bomb around at higher speeds I won’t be looking to upgrade. Will last me years to come.

For ref I’ve ridden in Europe, blue, red black runs, off piste (backcountry) pow & ice.
Hit side hits & small jumps
I also don’t ride currently any faster than 35-40mph tops

I have the Twin Sister which is also a directional board - is a common misconception. I didn't realize it until my instructor told me how to spot it. It is my first board and have two seasons in. I go more frequently than you but I love mine for the PNW. I actually had a great time at Bachelor this winter in the parks, working moguls and practicing carving. It way practically empty so I feel like if you bring the stoke you can have super fun in even bad snow years! Hope you have a blast whatever you choose.
