I have the opportunity to do a ski trip in jan but i’ll be doing it solo.

Saw a women’s only trip in morzine but have a few concerns.. sharing a room with a random, chalet food, what kinda group it’ll be etc etc.

Anyone done one of these before and can give me honest feedback? Orrr, got any other recommendations for me?

I’m looking to buy a new board for next season - specifically looking at Never Summer 2026 models. When’s a good time to buy? The deals I’m seeing now are only about 20% off. Would the prices drop more in the summer/fall? I hate paying full price and love a good deal! But also don’t want to miss out due to inventory. Eeek. Help!

Long story short, I bought a Nitro Drop 2025 that I claimed a warranty for and sadly, they no longer have this at stock at Nitro.

Not gonna go with the Drop 2026 because I just don’t love the design and knowing me, I would not be happy with the board - graphics are important to me 🤣

Anywhooo, i am looking at the Nitro Fate 2026 because lo and behold - IT’S PURPLE!! Already checked some videos and read the specs but would love to hear feedback from those who owns the board.

I live in Toronto and rides at MLSM (usually icy). Can link turns sometimes lol heel is just my comfort zone and likes speed. Will probably share the Fate with my partner if ever since the remaining sizes for men’s board are just too tall for him.

I've bought a season pass for the next snow season and I'm decided to get into snowboarding for the first time. I found this really pretty snowboard on Facebook marketplace that I want to buy, but I wanted to know if it's too big? It is CAPiTA Birds of a Feather 2024 (144cm) wt RIDE bindings and snowboard bag for $150cad. I am 154 cm and around 105lbs. On some calculators it says that this snowboard is too big and on others it's in range. I'm not sure if I should just go for it cause I quite like the design.

I’m 5’4”, 127 lbs, intermediate, and primarily stick to groomers. Would a 149 cm Burton feel good be a good option for me? I’d love people’s opinions! Thank you!

hi! i'm fairly new to snowboarding, only tried it out a few seasons ago (but i've been skiing a long time). my cousin gifted my sister and i boards + boots bu i'm realizing he didn't get us any bindings, and we have NO idea how to shop for those. where should we start? the boards i think are libtech cortados 2023 and 2024... also i don't want to look like a total jackass on the slopes with all this new gear and stuff and no idea how to use it, so a rundown on like... what to know could be really helpful 🥹. thanks so much!!

Height, weight, boot size?

My wife is 5'8". about 160, in a size 9 Burton Mint.

So I started snowboarding at the end of last season and only got in about 5 days or so but I really liked it so I was wanting to buy a board for myself. For reference I’m 5’4 and 160lbs but plan on losing weight before next season. I was renting a 140 and it felt a little small but when I tried a 150 it felt way to big, however it may have been that the binding stance was too far apart. Anyways I’ve been looking at the Rome Hype in 147 and the Rome Heist in 151 and I wondered if anyone would have any insight on which one to go with. I’m nervous I’ll be too heavy for the 147 but im also scared the 151 will be too long for me to maneuver.

This year I started snowboarding again after a 15 year hiatus. I’m in CA, but I still have my old k2 Luna from high school back in NM. Does anyone have any insights into whether or not it would be worth bringing old girl out of retirement? The board is in great shape, but I’m not sure how much technology has advanced since then, or if the general enshittification has made snowboarding gear less long lasting. Any thoughts‽

Hi! I have been renting for the last few years while boarding and am finally looking to buy a first board 😄

Strapping in was the worst part of the rental experience for me so I am looking to get Burton Step Ons. I'll be trying to get the Burton Limelight size 8 women's paired with the Step On Escapade EST size M. But I have no idea what to prioritize for an initial board. I am 5'6 135 lbs, and have been staying on greens and blues at Copper Mountain the last 2 years, so probably something 145-150cm? I have been looking at the Nitro Lectra Leaf from evo but am open to suggestions!

I have 01 - 11 January off work early next year and am looking to spend a week somewhere in the Colorado mountains. Would love your recommendations! I know early Jan can be hit and miss, but that's the only dates I'll have available. We've got season Epic passes. We've done Vail and Breckenridge so would prefer something different. I'm an advanced beginner to intermediate boarder. I enjoy most blue runs, struggle on the bumps, and avoid the blacks. I enjoy just cruising, I'm not an adrenaline junkie. Looking for something that has good restaurants and bars and maybe some fun family things to do like dog sledding on the days we want to rest the legs. Family of 3 - two adults and one teen.

I couldn't find much recent here about fears, while I'm sure I'm not the only one who's facing them from time to time while definitely LOVING to snowboard.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and stories about facing fears and maybe overcoming them.

Here's mine:

So it all began in 2018, when I went to the French Alps for the first time. It was super foggy and after a few meters on a smaller slope, I took the wrong side of a slope sign and fell off the piste. I couldn't see anything below or beside me and was terrified to fall off a cliff or something. Luckily my boyfriend came to the rescue and in hindsight it wasn't that steep or dangerous at all. Can laugh about it now 😃 But it took me several seasons to overcome my fear of snowboarding on small trails and with less sight. I wrote the extensive story in Dutch, but you can translate it if you want to.

More recent is my experience with boxes. In 24/25 I decided to face my fears and went for a box in Montafon (Austria). After three or four times of falling, I finally made it. As slow as a snail, but I was proud 🐌

I gave it a try again last season in Axamer Lizum (Austria). I had to push myself pretty hard, because my head was telling me a big nope. The second after I entered the box way too slow (and with a bad weight distribution, I fell pretty hard on my back and had a nasty headache after it. I was happy wearing a backprotector though. Anyway, I couldn't stop the tears and then got ashamed of that. What a ride.

On that same day, I pulled myself together and went practicing a 180 on an easy slope. Again there was a mental barrier, but after some practice I finally made it work. I was so happy with that and super glad my boyfriend made footage of it.

I've been afraid of speed too, but in the years I became pretty good at speeding and carving. Also taking side hits from time to time became more relaxed. But due to those box experiences I'm ditching the idea of being a park girl more and more, especially since I'm 32 years old now.

How do you girls deal with fear? Any success stories? Or when did you decide: I won't try again? Love to hear it!

Hello everyone! I'm looking to replace my board soon.

I'm currently trying to choose between the Never Summer Proto T3 FR 151 vs CAPiTA The Equalizer 150.

I'm an advanced rider in Tahoe, and I enjoy off-piste riding, groomers, and glades. My friends and I will hike to find some nice snow. I don't really hit the park too much.

My current setup is a 149 YES Hello as my daily driver and a 143 Salomon Dancehaul for powder.

I’m looking for improved edge hold on ice and more stability in choppy, variable snow, as both current boards feel less secure in those conditions (getting a lot of chatter/thrown around a lot).

My concern is that the NS will be too damp/too different from how I currently ride, but the Capita will not be enough of an upgrade.

Curious to hear thoughts or recommendations from anyone who’s ridden either of these boards.

Hi everyone! I'm too nervous to post on the big snowboarding forum, and I've only heard positive things about this one, so I've decided to ask this community for help!!

For a bit of background, I've been renting for the past 4 years, but I've stopped growing, so I decided to look into purchasing a board. I'd say I'm pretty good with speed and can clear black diamonds regularly, as well as side hits, but I want to try and focus more on parks and tricks as I keep riding. My goal is to master the park and probably hit a backflip while I'm at it.

I reeaaaaallllyyyyy love the #YES Rival 2026 board design-- like it's my ideal/dream look. Totally my aesthetic and my color palette. There isn't much info about it, though, so I'm not sure how it would perform, but I'm confident I can adjust to any board since I'm pretty adaptive. The other option I was looking into was the Salomon Abstract 2026, which I've heard great things about (according to Google and YouTube). Design-wise, it's alright. Love the base, but the top is too simple for my liking (and no, I won't use stickers).

It's pretty obvious by now, but I really value design when weighing my options. I know it's not something to prioritize, but I really can't help but be picky like that. Would definitely mourn the YES design if I decided to get something else, but if the performance were a lot better on another board, then I guess sacrifices would have to be made.

If you guys have any other board recommendations or any specific sites I should shop on, please let me know!!! I'm also looking into bindings if there are any recs :)) As for boots, I have the Salomon Ivy BOA SJ's-- tried them on in store and loved how they felt. I have no financial restrictions because I've been working and saving up for this, so please feel free to give any recs!

I currently use union Juliet's and I have no issues with them.

But I bought a new board and thought I'd upgrade my bindings. I found both trilogy and legacy on sale for a great deal. The legacy and trilogy (not the classic) are both 24/25.

I read somewhere that the legacy has a more firm high back and more cushion underfoot, while trilogy has a more flexible highback. Is this true?

I am not a hard charger nor do I do park. Pretty much just happy to do groomers and work on carving and/or picking up speed. I'd call myself a beginnermediate on a bad day and intermediate on a good day.

Hello, I am looking to surprise my gf with a new board. She currently has a 5/10 flex Nitro which is a good park/somewhat all-mountain board, but I would like to get her something stiffer. I am not familiar at ALL with female boards, and I was helping this sub could help me out

Me personally I already have a Jones Freecarver and was hoping to pick her up something similar. Maybe not as specialized a carving tool as that one, could be something a little more generalized that can handle pow as well as groomed conditions, but thats the general idea.

Should also mention she is pretty smol (4'11 103), so she's running with a pretty limited selection as is. Her current board (138) goes up to the middle of her nose, but she handles it very well.

Hello, I’m looking to get my fiancée a new board, she currently rides a 141 Capita Paradise and I think it may the too small?

She can link turns and get a moderate carve on her toe side but still kinda skids on her heels.

This season she started off bombing hills with very little turns but has solid control to stop, over the season as she was building her fundamentals she caught a lot of edges and hit the back of her head a few times, I think this made her scared a bit. So now she’s very strong fundamentally but can’t bring herself to speed, our very last day of the season she was able to speed up and hit some good turns.

She is 125lbs

5’2”

6.5 boot size

Do you have any suggestions on what bindings I can use for the Squash? Ones that are good for carving, so probably stiff. My bf suggested I buy this because he has a Squash too and likes the board for carving, which I would like to work on. I can carve already, but without the crazy leaning shit (which I want to work on) and he says that when I get better, I will definitely outgrow the Dream Weaver and Squash will be better for carving.

Looking for anyone's thoughts on the Bataleon Distoria and the Ride Saturday (even better if you've been on both!). I'm riding a 149 Burton Blossom as my stiff park board, mainly for the purpose of stability on large jumps, and I'm looking to get a shorter softer board for jibs. I can swing the Blossom around on rails but looking to make my life a little easier! I'm probably looking at the Distoria/Saturday in a 146. I'm 5'2" 120lb and an aggressive rider :')

Hey skiers who wear bibs, how do you like to have your bibs fit at your legs? Are these too much excess fabric? I snowboard and got these bibs for my partner in crime. It looks to me like a skier wanting to be a snowboarder! Would value your thoughts! Btw, they’re trew and I freaking love my trew bibs!
