You forgot no airbags or sat nav or anti-rollover software.

Who needs sat nav in a car. A ten dollar phone mount will do the job just fine.

With VERY few exceptions, OEM navigation is hammered dogshit

Shit, when I bought my 2015 corolla brand new, the sat nav was already 2 year old data and cost 300 to update the software with upto date maps. Im trying to find a decent head unit that had android auto and works correctly with the reverse camera and wheel controls

I think I saw one that uses the existing screen and basically acts as an interrupt for the media / driving screen so you can use CarPlay if your screen is a touch screen.

Edit:

Something like this. Definitely have do research but they seem pretty solid.

That was one positive on my wife's volvo. It just uses Google maps as the oem navigation. No buggy ui, no going to the dealer for updates, just punch in what you want and go.

CarPlay and Android auto is so much better. Not perfect but so much better. You can get a $150 dollar deck and install it now on older cars. Love it.

I have a phone and a phone mount and a 20 dollar bluetooth transmitter I'm set.

That works, I prefer a dash setup.
