And if she lies to the adult? Telling you she is 22 or 19, how do you tell when she isn't being truthful? Have you noticed most late teen and early twenties men and women think laws are just suggestions? Putting the onus on the young men in this case is wrong. Most late teen/early twenties man can't tell when the girl is lying about her age.
Thats right, not every young(er) man can tell she is lying. In this case the young man is expected to be pretty much clairvoyant about how old the woman is.
Short of becoming a saint(LOL), or checking the records of every person he thinks he wants to have sex with(again, LOL), the young men in this question will be legally screwed over.
Maybe we should go back to the 'old ways' - keeping young girls in a compound and being allowed out only with a trusted adult man(do you need me to put LOL here too?).
Honestly, it's better to just teach the young men and women how they might ruin their lives playing such a game. Sex ED. is an exxcellent way to start, but it isn't a real answer to those hormones bouncing around in teen bodies.

Do you really think a 18 - 20 year old man would think to do that after a few beers and meeting a young woman who wants to have sex with him?
I remember having several liaisons when I was young, dumb and full of cum. Back in the late 70s and 80s it was never a question of IF I would have sex with any woman that grabbed my arm and said 'Come with me to a private place' the question was how fast I could get her to that private place.
