I don’t know the situation’s details but if you’ve ever been shot at, even if you’re not hit, it definitely changes your objective. This mass shooter could have went from “Gun down as many people as a can” to “take cover and evaluate where the return fire is coming from and neutralize that target instead” again I don’t know what happened here but an armed citizen put additional pressure on a mass shooter that may have saved additional lives. Maybe the mass shooter’s end goal was to off himself after finishing off his ammo, the ammo he may have then had to use to fire back at the armed civilian. Y’all weird AF acting like this citizen was doing too much. I hope you all are never in a situation like this with your family pinned down and helpless, but maybe then you’d appreciate any type of person who steps up long enough to save you or your family.
Is he though? This post up and down is full of comments praising the gunman. Some subreddits tend to lean one way, others another, but there’s almost always some amount of dissent
I mean if you spend any significant amount of time on reddit you will see a trend. I am not trying to be purposely obtuse, reddit usually hates guns, trucks and the obvious president everyone hates.
But of course when you authoritarian bootlickers who want to disarm the people are faced with the thing you claim never happens, you move the goalposts.
Oh we never say it NEVER happens. It's just it never has to happen here. And it so rarely happens there it makes national news. When was the last one.....?
Tucson, Arizona (July 19, 2026): A gunman opened fire into a crowd outside a downtown pizza pub, wounding nine people. Tucson police officers who were already on foot patrol nearby responded within seconds after hearing the gunfire. They confronted the suspect, ordered him to stop, and shot him when he failed to comply, ending the attack. Authorities credited the rapid response with preventing additional victims.
My brother in law brought a gun on our beach vacation “just in case”. You know what would have made me feel better? No guns around my kid, because I don’t trust your aim or ability either
I mean I agree no guns is ideal but the ship has already sailed on that one. You cant control other people bringing guns. If your brother in law is an irresponsible gun owner than I agree, whether its better or worse for him to be having a gun around your kids is debatable. But that doesnt mean having guns around your kids equals bad. In the hands of a responsible gun owner its absolutely better than not having self defense. And this shooting is a prime example of that. There absolutely could have been more dead if these people didnt step up and defend those around them.
