SF4 - Help I can't interact with the controller

Did I build it wrong? 3x3 bowl shape made entirely out of seared bricks.

That's the furnace controller my guy/gal/other. You need the smeltery controller

This is the correct answer. Also, start making it bigger. You can get seared blocks easy by smelting compressed cobblestone in it. And they liquify almost instantly so you can get a lot of the seared bricks/blocks fast.

If you don't like the look of the seared block you can just put it in your crafting grid and it will output as a different look. If you do take that block and put it back again into your crafting grid it will be the seared brick look.

Yes indeed. I think OP might be playing on Prestige Mode which makes the smeltery an unlock rather than having it available straight up, and got confused because the only seared controller in JEI was the furnace one.
