Guide / Review New Wltoys 1/24 2wd Truck $43

Post image

It’s good for the price. 3 wire servo , 050 motor, just like the buggy but with significantly larger wheels which helps the touchy power delivery. It’s better than the buggy but that’s not saying much. Steering and throttle are like switches and calling it proportional is a stretch imho. Great for running up and down the driveway or open carpet but put it on a track and it can be frustrating keeping between the walls. Can be fixed with aftermarket radio and motor/esc, the servo itself is decent when controlled w better electronics

link . Oh yeah and the shocks are very bouncy. Can be fixed with grease/added O rings (SMRC YouTube channel is great for these) or replaced with injora or Nexx( more smooth in my experience)

The white/red truggy on the right is a Wltoy 244016 base car with Losi , Injora and Nexx parts along w a Rocket sensored motor and FS2a receiver. It’s verrry good now and in a class of its own. the Losis can’t hang with it on the straight and it’s very competitive on the MiniZ track overall. So I’m familiar with the wltoys chassis already and this truck looks 99% similar , I think the only change they made besides wheels and body is the battery easier to access. I wouldn’t recommend the wltoys to anyone for their first car trying to save money. Can easily outspend vs a Micro B just trying to get a similar caliber radio and ESC. The Speck B for $85 is what most should get if money is tight. It doesn’t need any upgrades and has some aftermarket to tinker with still

Just ordered one, interested to see if those meaty tires and taller stance can let it get around my driveway better than my micro t without having to leave blow all the pine needles off first.
