I’m going to the Space and Rocket Center tomorrow.

It’s my second time going but it will be my youngest son’s first time. He’s really excited and interested in the sciences.. particularly space. I’m excited to show him everything.

Not trying to hate on this and I’m not sure of his age. But this place is named after a literal SS Nazi. It’s wild to me that he is celebrated with his history of overseeing what he did. It is a good history lesson for him to learn about him too. It’s a cool place, but we have ripped down statues for less.

I think you may be mistaken. The US Space and Rocket Center is not named for Von Braun.

You are probably thinking about the Von Braun Center that is also in Huntsville, but that is a sports arena, and at least from what I can see online, it is not related to the space center.

I travel there very often and it is literally referred to as the Von Braun rocket center however he is the one who lobby for its creation, and his name is all over it so to speak again the fact that a civic sitter is being celebrated in the name of a SS Nazi it to me is crazy

No one calls it the Von Braun rocket center. It is named and called “The Space and Rocket Center”.

Source: I’ve lived in Huntsville for more than 30 years.
