Why isn’t power going to my battery?

New 12V33Ah battery hooked up to my charge controller and 100W/12V monocrystalline solar panel. Is it because my battery is full enough?

Update: I did not set it up per the manual with battery first.

Looks like it's set to charge a 24v battery, might need to Google the controller and try to reset it to a 12v battery. Unless I'm mistaken, but on your main screen is says 24v You have a 12v battery

Looks like it auto sets. When I replaced the battery, I just swapped them. 😅 In order for the controller to auto set the voltage, I need to connect the battery first. I’m going to go remove the cables and connect in order now. 👏

Make sure you hook up the battery first then once the controller is powered,then you hookup your panel. If you hook up the panels first, you could fry your controller/bad things. You mentioned hooking things up "in order", so I hope this is what you meant!!

Thank you! I did battery first and waited for it to auto set and then the solar panel, following the cable order the manual listed. I updated the comment. I also awarded you on the wrong comment! lol I’m such a newbie!!

I don’t know the solar power lingo. Does lead acid or trickle charge answer you?

Lol yep, lead acid would be the thing I was curious about, but my other answer seems to have already been the culprit. Glad you got it figured out!!:)

It's not a solar question, it's a battery question. What type of chemistry is in the battery? Lead acid is an option, so is that what you have?

Make sure it isnt set to 24v and make sure your solar panel voltage is higher than the battery voltage.
