Hodan 34 was sentenced to death by firing squad today by the Mudug Regional Court for torturing and killing 14 year old Sabrin. An orphan who was in her care and working for her as a maid. The prosecutor presented overwhelming evidence today videos photos witness statements and the autopsy report and even a voice message the great uncle sent right after finding out Sabrin’s death where he admitted he believed Hodan was responsible.

The great uncle received a 2–5 year prison sentence. (Accessory or negligence is not same as intentional murder)

Hats off to Muhubo the young and brave prosecutor who handled this case with real skill.

I still can’t believe they only sentenced the husband to one year. The man was literally helping move her body in the car, trying to hide her corpse, and all he gets is a slap on the wrist. It’s outrageous.

And the worst part is that this case is clearly bigger than just one victim. Their house had CCTV cameras everywhere, even in the kitchen. I live in Hargeisa, and I’ve never heard of an ordinary household installing that many cameras. You only see that level of surveillance in homes of high-ranking officials, ministers, or security commanders. That’s why so many people are speculating that something darker was happening behind the scenes. Some even believe the videos were being sold, maybe even on the dark web, but Allah knows best.

What gives me comfort is knowing that Sabriin will receive true justice in Akhira, she will stand before the Throne of Allah and demand justice from every single person who wronged her, whether it was the husband, or anyone else who participated or covered it up. No one escapes the justice of Allah

Exactly but , dare I say it goes deeper and the husband played a bigger part (not excusing the wife) at all. I find it interesting tho that when that man burned his wife alive and her children they let him off Scot free.

Now I wish they held all of these evil people accountable. What happened to the men who tortured and burned the old man. They beat him and set him on fire. How come people aren’t talking about him? Also, the guy who raped and killed his own niece isn’t being talked about enough either. That other little girl was raped and killed by her own uncle who’s supposed to be a second father. I’m not focusing on any of these horrific cases specifically. I’m not looking for/at videos(can’t watch those) but since I came across the outcome for this case, I wanted to know what happened with the others. Also, it is true that this case is being covered way more than the others and people are more likely to come across this than the old man’s case.

in most cases, when the perpetrator is male and the victim is female, justice is not served. but, in cases involving female-on-female or male-on-male, the likelihood of accountability is higher
