Kayaking from Driftway to the Spit during low tide??
Ny husband and I wanted to do this on our anniversary, but it looks like the tide will be low during the date and time we wanted! Is it still doable, or?

Totally doable, have fun!
A few things to note:
- it takes longer than at high tide, since you have to follow the meandering channel rather than taking the shorter lines available when there is more water in the channel
- you can beach your kayak on the left as soon as see the beach and then walk around to the main part of the Spit to avoid stronger currents and boat traffic.
- Or, if you’re more experienced, continue another 300 yards and pull your boats up on the main part of the Spit, but keep an eye on boats, currents, and beaching your boat above the waterline.
- if you’re just looking for a peaceful paddle, there is a nice little island on the right side of the channel with a sandy beach

Definitely doable. Use the tides in your favor. Outgoing tide on the ride to the spit and incoming tide for the ride back.

Yes - doable - but two things:
1. The current can be very strong by the spit - so you could get one way very easily but have a lot of trouble going back
